Someone told me I was “all the stars in the night “sky (after a MMDG performance, this person was also very good with words and made me blush ear to ear) and now I realize it was tied to the noir gown! Just got back from Delaware with my baby. She spent 2 weeks a Hayes Sewing Machine shop getting some love. If you ever get the chance to meet Mr. Hayes - he's been working in the sewing machine repair world for 60 years (in his 90s). He is the machine repair super hero! Thanks for the fun Marcy.

I love this take on the troublesome McCall's - the original was lovely, but this one is definitely more you, especially with the robe on top! Interchangeable gowns would be right up my alley, although I don't really have any use for this particular style. But that big bow is fabulous!

I’m about to do an interchangeable gown as a sundress….so you never know 😉! I almost wore the dress and the robe to the wedding. I decided it was a little too Iris Apfel for the event 😂

@@handmadeharriells It has also to do with my unwillingness to wear anything sleeveless. 😃 But now I think about it, the approach reminds me very much of Victorian dresses that had interchangeable day and evening bodices. Or Regency dresses that had remove-able long lower sleeves for day/colder season. The exact same concept of getting the most use out of your fabric and work, which would be why I love it! 💛

Thank you! I’m going through my first grades of six sizes, then going up another six from there-it’s a process to be sure the pattern doesn’t break as you grade up, but I really want to be as expansive as possible!

If you ad a little vertical strap on the big bag (not the bow-bag, the other one) then you can make the big fabric peace (carryon strap) into a bow if you want to.
