Great video. Thanks. I’ve purchased ooni koda 12 and have a full 19kg gas bottle that the supplied ooni connection does not fit which I knew about. I’m going to do as you did and purchase these items as we have a caravan and this way we don’t need to be taking a 19kg bottle with us. That will stay at home and the smaller tank can stay at caravan. The extra hose and quick release connections are great for this. Thanks for the video and link to the regulators etc. 👍🍕

Perfect!! - Thanks for this video. I've just followed your helpful instructions, and done exactly what you've described. - Getting hold of Gas bottles here is proving near impossible but I eventually managed to acquire a 19kg bottle with the screw-type fitting that a friend was throwing out. Very useful video! Just ordered my Koda 12 and wanted to prepare something of this sort before it arrives. Clear steps and well explained. 👍🏼 I do have a question however. The quick release sets linked in the description provide an extra nozzle only and not the open end. Would having the open ended side of the quick release on the Koda pipe and the nozzles at the end of the regulator pipes be a bad idea? Since you have it the other way round.

Hi, as shown in the video, get a bowl of boiling water and submege the regulator and hose for a minute or so, then whilst using a cloth, pull the pipe of the regulator. Unfasten the jubilee clip 1st though... I would do that rather than remove the hose from the oven end...

In warmer months, you can also use commercially available butane cylinders with the ooni koda and a suitable 28-30mbar butane regulator. Slightly cheaper than propane but becomes useless at 5c 41f and below. Displays visible yellow tips on ignition which increase as the burner warms up (no deal-breaker) but heats up the oven slightly faster.

@anthonyperkins7556
@anthonyperkins7556 3 жыл бұрын
@@mauriziob5944 Small cannisters wouldn't last very long and would run out quickly because of the high gas consumption. You really need proper full sized gas cylinders to use with the gas fired Ooni pizza oven.

In theory is it possible to just swap the regulators i.e. dismount the Ooni regulator and then mount the Flogas regulator directly on the Ooni tube? That way you don't need the release connector and the extra tube.
@marcospizzahq
@marcospizzahq 3 жыл бұрын
Yes that is also possible, the only reason to use the quick release connectors is so you can disconnect very easily from the tank to store your oven elsewhere. And also if you already have the other connection, you can at least have the choice of which tank to use.

Thanks for the video, just what I was looking for in preparation. My Koda is due next week and I was wondering how many of the quick release connectors I need to order - is it 1 or 2? As I understand, after doing this I'll have 1 patio gas and 1 FloGas pipe each with a quick release connector so I'll need 2? And finally do the fully assembled connectors then fit straight into the Koda as I imagine they will from your video? Thanks in advance!
@marcospizzahq
@marcospizzahq 4 жыл бұрын
Hiya, It all depends on exactly what you are wanting to achieve ?...If you JUST want to add a new regulator to the pipe from your Ooni Koda, then that's all you need to do, but if you wanted to do exactly what I did in the video, you would need 1 x 37mbar regulator ( witch an extra length of piping ) to fit the FloGas tank and TWO sets of quick release connectors as shown. You will end up with 1 half of a set left over..ANd yes, as you see in the video they fit straight into the pipes :) You could just get one of these instead, which has 1 stop connector and 2 of the other type... www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Quick-Release-Coupling-Connector-1-Extra-Nozzle-4-Clips-Propane-Butane-Hose/121490466132?hash=item1c49656554:g:qXAAAOSwYfBc9lHB

Thanks for the video. We're also thinking of shifting to using 19Kg propane bottle but when I talked to a flogas sales person, they told me that I would not save any money as I would burn twice as much gas as with a 10Kg bottle. He said it was due to the 19Kg bottle having a 7Bar valve Vs a 2Bar valve on the smaller bottle...🤔 What is your experience as far as consumption is concerned? Is it cheaper overall to use the 19Kg bottle?

As far as I aware yes that should be fine, as the oven works on Propane OR Butane, so a mix should be more than fine. They only reason people use Propane is that it is better suited to winter use and can be a lot cheaper to buy in large tanks like the 19kg tanks..

I bought an Ooni Koda, but it came with the 50mbar regulator. If I swap to the 37mbar regulator would that damage the oven at all or you reckon they are built as standard and can take any regulator, would just depend on the country regulator you need?

You need to use the same mbar as fitted to your oven. I wouldn't advise performing ANY modifications unless you are confident in doing them and are using the correct regulator for your own country and the Mbar rating for the oven, which can be found on the oven itself or in the manual.

@@quentinfabre9983 Hiya, The Ooni Koda and ALL the other Ooni Ovens are NOT designed to be used indoors. People will say "On the official Ooni Videos, they do show them in a indoor setting", which is true BUT they have a professional studio setup with the correct extractor systems to make it safe for them to do it. However, I am not going to make any comments that encourage anyone to use their Ooni Ovens indoors, as this is not in line with the safety recommendations that come with the ovens. Do so at your own risk is all I will say, as Carbon Monoxide is a silent killer, you cannot see it or smell it.
