Hope you can get the transmission ironed out. Engine still sounds great. Need to reward your father going and getting that fuel. Which is heavy. I would give at least an At-A-Boy Award ! 👍

Food for thought, you can use a Chrysler 727. They ran them in the grand wagoneer behind the AMC 360. Should be same bell housing. I’ve built a couple of them with reverse valve body’s.

You will find all kinds of differing opinions on the web about mixing radial and bias ply tires on a vehicle but the bottom line is it’s never recommended by tire makers. A bias ply tire has the plys arranged across the tread and radials have them arranged radially or in the direction of circumference. So they react differently when rolling on the same surface. This can cause instability issues between front and rear of the car. Yes, some racers get away with it but, it’s not recommended for stability and safety. Assuming you are going to continue to run slicks then upgrading the front to a new set of bias ply front runners is the best approach. If you’re at PRI this week it could be a good discussion with one of the tire companies to get more technical explanation.
@SallysSpeedShop Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the insight. That’s very interesting! I will be at PRI Sunday and am definitely planning to talk to some tire companies anyway
@380.motorsports Жыл бұрын
@@SallysSpeedShop So it appears I can think but not type. I know what I was trying to say about tire construction but wrote it backwards. Radial tires have the steel cord layers running radially from one side of the tire to the other. Bias plys traditionally did not. Anyway with all the opinions lacking fact on the old internet it will be interesting maybe to hear your findings in a future video after talking with some experts and how it might have affected your drag strip runs and handling of the car at speed.

She needs some preload in the right rear to make it go straight. Plus, and this is important, if the car is running, ear plugs man. You dont want to get old and not be able to hear anything. I waited too long to start wearing them and my ears ring so loudly now all the time.

@@OldTimeRevival Listening to loud cars without hearing protection is cool when you're young. But when you're 50, and sitting in a fairly noisy restaurant, and the background noise coupled with severe tinnitus makes it so you cant hear your wife who is sitting directly across from you, it's no longer cool.

A turn or 2 on the r/r spring. or better a 25lb stiffer spring as it is falling over bad on the hit. Smaller tyres or wider rims will give some stability. Do I seeradials on the front? If so bad

There's a 73 401 Javelin for sale for $1500 in Yuba City California if anyone wants it. I'd be all over it if it was the earlier body style but I don't like the bulges. I'm starting to get really interested in this 65 Dart that's for sale, dude just dropped the price to $4k if he drops it to $3k I might have to buy it. It's got a 273 and 727... it shouldn't get that bad of mileage, though it also won't make much power and they are surprisingly heavy. I still don't know if I can fit in them though. You need to get a small velocity stack or K&N filter or something on that carb to smooth the air flow into it. It'll seriously pick up power and make it a lot easier to tune.
