Absolutely love the channel been here since the start. The banter between you and your dad is heart warming and funny. But you have to be more consistent with the up loads. Keep it coming

My sister's 63 Bug had lug nuts, I think that's a later model thing, or maybe a European model thing.. I know the busses also have lug nuts but the rims are just hoops that bolt to the very outside of the drum and then the hubcap covers the drum.

We certainly don't support or approve of that in any way. We were just getting a 1971 Beetle running.

Do you know if you're real ingenious all you have to do is drill a real small shallow hole inside of a screwdriver screw a clip to it and bingo you got yourself a spark tester that you don't have to worry about getting burnt from

It's a European thing Peugeot does the exact same thing they have the same kind of lug nut deal so does Fiat on some of the older models

One more thing I’d like to share you should check the valve clearance, especially on an engine set for 20 years to make sure all the valves should be set about 6000 clearance then set your timing and set your carburetor adjustments. Probably help with it running just excited to see you doing something with it

Hay guys Volkswagen uses a braided fuel line that’s not the standard size. It’s a millimeter size the right way to do. It would be replaced that with that instead of a standard rubber hose just a suggestion.

One more point you don’t need the ballast resistor. I’ve been driving Volkswagen for 30 years. I’ve never used the ballast resistor on a Volkswagen just to give you the information. This is Mark.

Hey guys, the factory juice panel on a Volkswagen bug is actually just held in with a wire clip and that clip is probably broken which is like a two or three dollar part that holds that exact refused panel in place if you wanted to use the factory refuse panelthis is marked from Montana I drive a 1961 and it’s January in Montana and I drove mine today

Unless block is 100% filled why couldn't it be a street engine? 12.5 is far from too high for 93 pump gas.. that ratio is easily workable with cam timing by reducing dynamic compression especially with some octane booster .Back in like 05 or so I bought a 1970s sportster engine that was rebuilt in 1982 the guy tore his bike apart had the engine rebuilt and set it on the shelf in his basement, I bought the basket for $1000, the engine still had a "country power" tag hanging on it. I popped the heads expecting rust and the bores looked like new, the only problem was a couple pooched valve springs from sitting compressed.

A old guy that had a bike shop up here in Maine had a sweet old street n strip javelin it was black with red or blue pinstriping and said midnight something painted on the rear quarter, it was a long time ago like 90s, but it looked old school bigs and skinnys and it kinda sat up a bit in the front, not gasser high but 70s street machine high. It had a really rank sounding 401 in it. and he ended up getting rid of it when I asked where it went he said a spiral lock popped out n the wrist pin trashed the bore anyway, that was his story anyway. I've always loved street machine javelins.

Every time you take it out and then bring it back you got to give it a rebuild … and the parts cost a lot of money … and the fuel costs a lot of money … So … to go to the shops to get a carton of milk worth 2 dollars … you will need 50,000 to rebuild …😂… !

Good thing those pushrods weren't too long. You didn't seem worried about that at all being you just put the old ones in there and tightened the rocker arm shaft down without even thinking about it.
