Thank you for sharing your family history. Your family’s association with this area is fascinating. I’ve walked by the Carbeth huts a few times while walking the WHW, and have always been curious about the history of the place. To have stumbled upon a video made by someone so close to the very roots of the place was truly a gift from the KZbin gods. I hope there’s a follow-up!

Great episode. Even though its not a woodworking project I had fun watching it, but well actually more listening while doing other stuff. :) Regards from Poland

I really enjoyed this, Jez. Thanks so much for sharing. Although it does look rather cold!

Thanks Olly. I am somewhat pissed off that Alex Salmond has now cleverly divided not just Scotland but the rest of the UK over a selfish and narrow minded and not totally honest campaign. They (politicians) all made quite a mess of it and I just think it is sad that we see increasing polarity today. Take up woodwork and love thy neighbour!

Jeremy, Attracted to this Carbeth Video because of a phrase whereby my Grt-Grandmother stated in an 1861 English census, that her birthplace was Hollan Carbeth (subject to translation ). Would you be able to contribute any meaning to her phrase Hollan ? She was born in Scotland around 1813 if that's any clue. Thanks, Paul
