This sounds great! The lower notes are really full but do sound a bit scratchy, and the higher notes are crystal clear! I think I know which Ocarina I'm gonna get once I can afford one ;D

It comes with a fingering chart and we're also in the process of printing songbooks for the OoT Double! (we also have the PDF version available)

Either would be a good choice, but there are some differences. We designed the OoT Double for Zelda fans who would like to play the themes from the Zelda series that require a larger range, so if you love Zelda, this is the ocarina for you. The Double Sweet Potato has the same range, but it is slightly more comfortable to use since it is not restricted to the shape of the Zelda ocarina from the game. It's also slightly quieter than the OoT double.

Will you do a review video for this ocarina? :D It'd be great to know more about how it's crafted, the sound, tune, etc... It's a beautiful ocarina hopefully I'll get it in some months when I completely master the one I've got now haha

Since the F# hole is usually placed over the middle finger or index finger hole , we included both options to allow the player to decide which finger position is most comfortable for him/her.

Since you already have a good understanding of music, you should adjust to the double ocarina just fine. We would recommend focusing on the first chamber and once you are comfortable with that, begin practicing with the notes on the second chamber.

It's only a few centimeters bigger all-around, so it actually fits quite well in the same case your OoT came in!

The difference is actually 7 notes. While the OoT can play up to F6, the OoT double can play F#6-C7 (7 chromatic pitches), D7 with a special fingering.

Fella, I don't know if you've been well deep in the ocarina playing community, but an idea for a multichamber OoT styled oc has been thrown out into the air by community members for a long time before STL. It was not STL's idea by any means. They just got their take on the idea made first.

With your experience and knowledge of music, you should be fine with starting on the double. We would just recommend spending more time familiarizing yourself with the first chamber before learning the second.

I have a question. I am not only a big fan of Zelda, but I love music in general. I have played trombone for 5 years now. I also have a good understanding of music. I have never played a wind Instrument in my life. Do you think getting the double Oot is a good choice or should I just get the 12 hole? I wouldnt mind learning how to play the double Oot being that i like to have more note combinations to play around with. Which Ocarina would you recommend me to get ?

Ok so here is my dilemma, I'm thinking about buying a songbird OoT, not just cuz i'm a huge zelda fan, but because i'm also a huge music fan who goes nuts over anything that can make music(hence the reason i play guitar, Viola and violin). My question is should I go with the double here or should i go with one of the simpler ones? I've never played an Ocarina before, I do have a fairly decent understanding of the theory behind music but mostly am experienced with stringed instruments not wind.

Serious question: Is the difference between the OoT and the OoT double 3 notes? Cause 2 octaves is 24 notes right!? And OoT does 21. Would that high tune at 1:03 be one of those 3 notes? =)

I don't know about double ocarinas but on transverse a nice trick is to look down and hold the ocarina close to your chest while blowing harder. Don't know if that'll work but I thought I'd give my two cents. best of luck.
