Well, 1 year difference is quite a lot, since if the Author did Weekly chapter releases (back in 2012, when he started writing the WN), that would be like 52 chapters worth of plot covered already (that's like more than half of what Manga has covered until now for this Series).

the magic ability the tsuykimo-something-sama, the moon deity gifted Makoto was not of the present world so I believe it doesn’t count to his player level. Just speculation, the powers Makoto received that are not from the current realm may not be able to be displayed whenever he is tested with the scroll or any other method.

Well his level is tied to his race. Since he was givin powers from a god not of that world he is actually a demigod, so instead of needing 100xp for lv2 it is more like 1million.

I think you may not have realized yet why Makotos' level is just 1. There is an actual reason for that and it can pretty much be guessed when you consider that he defeated way higher levelled enemies with ease already. Think of an RPG. What is the usual condition to get EXP? By the way, the novel has already more than 400 chapters and is far from close to the end.

The "Level System" is a Fake System, which doesn't really represents the actual Power of a person. And because its a Fake System, and Makoto is like Super OP, the System is bugged in his case, and always shows his Level as "1".
