So as a Web Novel and Manga reader, I'll say that the anime is following the story very closely. At most, they trim some scenes down for time. Examples tagged below, in case anyone would prefer not to see. 1. We get details on Makoto and Mio's dinner where they listen in on the operation and break down basically how corrupt this town is. Basically, prices are rigged so Adventurers are lured in by generous rewards, then pressured to keep taking big risks until they fall into debt and end up like Rinon's sister. 2. Makoto and Rinon go sell all the fruit, and he corrects the merchant for assuming Rinon was a slave. It's not much, but just an extra thing to show he's kind to her. 3. Tomoe and Mio were actually about to abandon every other victim at the bad guys' base. They utterly take the piss with "Arlong" where they're like "Oh no! We almost fell into the trap! .......Young Master would totally ask 'and what about the others?' if we just returned with the trap, so we need to free everyone else too, even though it's annoying." 4. The Innkeeper that tried to scam Makoto by upcharging him gets super stressed out because they left their fee with him and told him to hold the refund for the next 3 days. Basically, they were punishing him with the pressure of what Tomoe and Mio would do to him if he lost that money. All in all, the plot is untouched, it's just tiny shortcuts to save time.

Also, this anime is going to end with 12 episodes, but it should be noted that we are currently up to Chapter 25 of the Web Novel...which currently has 425 chapters out. Needless to say, there is material FOR DAYS if this anime is well-received and continuation seasons are a thing.

Technically, they did cover point "2" in this Episode. Except, rather than the Merchant doing it, they made the Innkeeper do it. Also, as far as the Manga goes (which is based on the Light Novel), . . . . . There are a few scenes of Makoto talking to other animals like a Unicorn, which disguised itself as a Horse. And no being on that World is capable of talking to Animals like that (even Tomoe & Mio can't).

@@psychronia The Anime is going to adapted only plot covered by the Light Novel, which is usually done for adaptations. And the Current Light Novel (Volume 16), covers plot until around Web Novel Chapter 280. Based on the Scenes in the 2020 Teaser & June 2021 Trailer, it is expected that the Anime would adapt until Light Novel Volume 04 (roughly around Web Novel Chapter 80) plot within these 12 Episodes (with this episode, the Anime already covered the plot of Volume 01, and next Episode would start covering the plot of Volume 2). Mind you, the information i am presenting isn't based on Light Novel translation (because there is none for that). But based on Illustrations from Light Novel & Manga adaptation plot (which follows the Light Novel).

So far, yeah, it's following the source material while cut every "small" details here and there. Although I said "cut" it actually didn't really matter to the plot whatsoever. It enhances your experience, sure, but anime can only be 20+ min. It is what it is. P.s. I still like how C2C adapting the anime so far, they actually put their heart into this show which earn my respect even more rather than making it half-assed. Also also, just like other isekai that has their own color, Tsukimichi also has its own vibe and style which makes it not only less generic, but also great in its own way

Something they did not explain well in this anime, which you can only hear if you understand Japanese is: Makoto's species is ningen (Japanese for human), the humans in this world are literally called "human" in Japanese (in their writing system for foreign words). Doesn't translate into the subs at all, considering both translate to human in English. They are different species though, this is also one of the reasons for his strength and lack of "beauty" as explained by Tsukiyomi.

@@luminousxd5269 The Kanji for moon gets read as tsuki though. :b Tsuku is just the Old Japanese reading of the Kanji. There are multiple ways to say his name. So please actually know the language before you correct someone.

Lists of some cut content [cus I can't remember all of it.] : - The scene that Tomoe and Mio talk about of uncaring Makoto is about Tomoe killed the thieves by accident. - Mio was actually scared of Makoto and doesn't want to be looked at by that "glare". - The scene about Makoto fall a sleep while thinking "How should I kill the people that forced Rinon to do their dirty work." - Toa was drugged and "used" in many, MANY way to the point that her body and mind are beyond ruined and the only used she have left in her in to be a guinea pig for magic experimentations. - The scene Mils Ace explained that Toa had been drugged and no matter where she run off to... She can't live without it... although she was already cured by Mio so yeah SAFE. - The scene where Tomoe and Mio talked about how "This is a trap!" and Makoto will be mad if they don't recuse the other prisoners.

This Episode was painful for Manga readers .... there are so many little bits of story missing that would have made it so much tastier ... like a Soup without Salt

@@HarleySB The problem is that the Story doesn't fit all that well into a 12 episode a 23 min format ... so they need to pace that bitch like Sonic on Ecstasy in order to reach a certain Climax within 12 episodes (roughly 60 Chapters)

True to a certain extent, but then again we can't expect all the plot stuff to be covered in the Anime to begin with, and as long as the flow of the plot in the Anime isn't bad, its ok for me. But if i have to complain about stuff which got "cut", then they would be . . . . . - The first hint towards the difference between Human's of Earth & Human's of Goddess World (Official Manga term "Huma"), that comes up when Makoto first talks with the Chief of Elder Dwarf's. - Makoto talking with that Unicorn (which disguises itself as a Horse), which even surprises Tomoe, as its not possible to talk to Animals like them. Both these plot points are kind-off important to the whole story, as one is related to the Origin of the Human's of Goddess World, while other is the Scope of the power that Goddess ignorantly gave to Makoto.

I know what you're talking about, more considering that the manga surely also omits some things from the novel, but considering that apparently they will adapt 4 volumes of the LN in 12 episodes, such cuts are necessary. I think it has been handled quite well so far, making the pacing of the narrative quite dynamic and not at all boring.

@@diostaku2 To be honest I'm unable to evaluate the anime at this point .... the knowledge from having read the Manga is too much of an improvement for the story. Did you notice that Anime viewers have absolutely no idea what the deal was with the villains of this episode? They don't know about the drug operation that took place here and that they needed the captives for their drug experiments. Information that gives the characters more depth ... and I'm unable to look at them like I don't know what's going on.

"Spoiler" . . . . . Nice Catch Yeah, it is that Short Sword that Makoto used, which is the Family Heirloom of Toa and the reason she came to the Wasteland to search for it. And the Monster that Toa's Ancestors once challenges was Shin/Shen in the Wasteland. They got thoroughly thrashed and defeated by her, which resulted in them losing that Short Sword in the Wasteland, later to be picked up by the Highland Orc's and then many years later gifted to Makoto when he recruits them.
