I think my first 'grinding strategy' i came up with as a kid was to use my fully upgraded starting miata to win the beginner gt championship Super Speedway race. My car/driving skills wasnt good enough to beat the rally cars on any of the other circuits, and I also wasnt fast enough to beat the Autobacs Apex MR-S or the C-West Razo Silvia, so i'd leave the race if they were opponents and re-enter until my rival cars were all rally cars that I could *just* barely beat with a 80's miata with all of the power upgrades purchased. I wouldnt have even bothered to adjust settings on the car parts at all apart from the gear ratios to give a higher top speed. I think I did this a handful of times just to buy something like a SVT Cobra or Camaro and buy some power upgrades for them and try to out-speed everything

It feels like the game is cheating on me everytime I see that car in the race, because it doesn't always go 2nd unless I bring out the big guns. I'm revisiting the game using an emulator out of pure nostalgia, back to square one with the good old Trueno. I'm so bad at this game that I can't even finish first in the Sunday Cup anymore (aside from Super Speedway). My old arcade fighting stick certainly doesn't help with the driving either lol. I will definitely try your tips and tricks this time!

A good demonstration of how to use trades to tune cars for free, though there's a few things I'd like to add: - About the money grind at the start: if you buy NA tuning stage 1 after winning the Apricot Hill race once, the AE86 can beat the other two races in the event (as long as the MR-S isn't in the line-up in race 3; exit and re-enter the race until it isn't there) along with the FR and 80's events. Turning off ASM and lowering TCS will make the car much faster around corners also. Makes the early game a lot more enjoyable compared to doing the same race over and over. Also saves time later in the playthrough as you'll have more events completed, plus you get prize cars like the CR-X, Silvia K's and FC RX-7 quite early. If you don't need them, sell them to fund more upgrades. - It seems like you changed the oil of the AE86 at some point, but you didn't mention or show it. For those who don't know, changing the oil of a brand-new car temporarily raises its power by 5%. - It's possible to beat European Championship in 3 races, skipping both Grand Valley and Monaco, therefore making 38,055 credits per lap. How it works is, if you drive to 1st place before exiting the race, the 10 points are forfeited and the 5 AI cars are awarded points for their positions at the time of exit. You need to ensure that the same car doesn't always come 2nd in each race though, or you'll tie in points at the end of the series (5 x 6 = 30 vs. 3 x 10 = 30) and the game will favour the AI. So, before exiting the race at Grand Valley, if there's a car that has 12 points, push it off-course so it falls behind, then get to 1st place and exit. It makes resetting race 5 a little slower since you need to drive to 1st before exiting the race, but it's still much faster than doing 3 laps of Grand Valley. - I saw you mention in a few replies that getting all golds in the B licence for the free Miata is a bit too skill-intensive for this video's audience. Personally I'd say it's not that difficult and a great learning experience, even for casual players. Yes, it's not the fastest way to start the game, but it's very satisfying and rewarding. The game gets a lot more difficult later on if you drive in automatic (S-8 in particular), so learning to drive in manual early on in these tests really helps. Also, reverse shifting (using the reverse button to gear up) makes most of the tests very easy. It's just B-8 that's challenging, especially on PAL, but getting gold on that test teaches you a lot about the game's driving mechanics with ASM and TCS turned off. Definitely easier than the time trials where you need to know how to drive fast in rally and also learn Complex String's entire layout. I know this video was mostly focused on ways to quickly make money in GT3, but just wanted to put that info out there for anyone who's interested.

The only other video I'd consider is how to beat all the events, but it would take a lot of recording time and gameplay compared to this one and it's just something I'm not feeling up to

Let me tell you the strategy I had... 1) dont buy a car 2) pass with golden times only b licence 3) modify the given miata (to the point that you can easily win the next events) 4) win Sunday cup, club man, fr, spider and roadster and sell all those prize cars except miata... 5) win some more money by repeating races (anything you like from these 4 events) 6) buy an evo and modify it max to rally spec 7) pass rally licences 8) since you have a max tuned evo win any of 3 rally races till u get a rally car ( I choose first the Swiss Alps that give you the peugeot 206) 9) put the biggest turbo on the rally car you got (I choose to win the peugeot 206 rally car) 10) win easily the other rally events 11) now you have got the mighty ESCUDO!!! 12) get special licence 13 upgrade escudo turbo to max and buy hard slick tyres 14 go to professional races and win like the wind 15 win other races in other categories with the cars you already have in order to save money( like 4wd in all difficulties....)

Again I do think that getting gold license is a good way to start but most casual players dont have the skill to do that consistently. Plus, the time trials arent even that hard, honestly maybe the difficulty of getting all silvers in S license at worst, and gives you a race car you can use and/or sell for 500,000. You also can all gold the rally and you start with a 4wd car with all non-power upgrades that you can spend your starting 18k on a turbo stage II for it and you basically have a 4wd jdm race car.

I used to have a magazine that had guides to this game and Zelda Oracle of Seasons. Your strategy was almost identical to the magazine's, only they suggested after getting the upgraded Evo, to do the Super Speedway endurance race until you win an F1 car, then you could REALLY dominate the rest of the game, and as much as I like your strategy, this would've really helped back when I was a teen when I couldn't do some of the tougher races. Nowadays, I think the better strategy, even though it's frustrating as hell, is to gold all the licenses, and beat the Arcade Time Trials, and get the free cars from those! the MX-5 you get from B license helps you in the roadster endurance with super hard tires, the Impreza Rally prototype can do the rally races, the Esperante can dominate the Super Speedway endurance, among others.

I pretty much always start GT3 now by getting all golds in the B license, but I didnt want to do a tutorial that requires players being skilled enough to reliably get all gold license tests to start off - purely because players that are good enough to do that usually know all the tricks in the game and/or don't really need any assistance to get through the game with the combination of skill and a head start. The time trials are actually arguably easier than most licenses. But I will say, if I were to inform people about all golds B license mx5 start, I'd also have to provide a full tutorial on how to properly do the license tests, which is its own video, and honestly its own topic that i'd rather focus on driving techniques than what the mx5 actually does for a new player

Yeah you could start with an mx5, do the early races and upgrade it a bit, then win the Beginner NA cup no problem. The Sprinter cheese strat is just to fasttrack people to winning the NA beginner cups so that you can get 5k per 2 lap race which quickly blows up when you repeat the trick on an affordable 90s JDM car.

Buy a supra rz. Fully upgrade it. Go th the turbo race on the test track. Map the accelerator the the right analog stick and get an elastic band to hold it up, and that's it. The car will bounce off the barriers but won't spin, you will come back about 15 mins later and you will have come first

The beetle cup is pretty decent for cash, 35k from winning all races+championship, 17.5k for selling the prize car (all 4 are the same) you can purchase the beetle as a starter car so this strategy can still work

I have 2 strategy for GT3 for the best start at the game. First strategy is get all license in gold but that requires some skills. The second strategy is get the license (doesnt matter if not gold), purchase a Mazda MX-5 and do the Apricot Hill endurance race, 40 lap. You'll get 100k and if lucky, you might get a F688S/Polyphony002 or another Miata.

Personally its hard for me to tell the audience of this game to just get golds for license cars because it actually requires a lot of skill and practise and for anyone who hasn't already achieved it, its something they generally do not want to do. The most efficient way of maximizing your reward for not having done any races at all, is straight up to get all the 1st place on time trials. The time trials are far easier than the S license, and even though the Esperante is a bad racing car, it is still a racing car which is head and shoulders above every single car in the game that is NOT a racing car. It can also be sold for 500,000 which is far more than you'll get for selling any of the prize cars. If you ask me, I like getting the gold prizes for a and ib licenses because they sell for quite a bit and arent necessarily useful cars, but again, I dont think the strategy should be 'get golds and sell those prize cars' because if someone is good enough to get gold licenses they don't need any real tips to beat this game, its not a very hard game at all. Generally the game you have a window where you feel underpowered, until you get a car that is good enough to beat every race it enters, then it is merely a matter of time before the game is over. The only roadblock you hit later are events like the Professional Yaris cup in which all players will be able to afford to fully upgrade a yaris and enter to compete it. Advice on how to win the races that might require extra skill/strategy warrant their own video however. If a player is good enough to get all golds in the licenses and start like that, they would know the game well enough to not need to know any of this information. While you can also use the miata from all b golds to do the miata endurance, if you do NOT get an F1 car from that endurance, then all you get from doing this is 150k and honestly getting the esperante and selling it is more efficient than that. Even more efficient than that is getting the esperante and winning all races you can possibly win with it, eg using it to do endurance races with no restrictions until you get an f1 car, then the game is pretty much over. But, the point of this video was to provide people of any skill level, at any point in the game, a way to get lots of money, so that they can simply buy whatever car they want and do what they want with the money.

You will need your class A license for this but in the amateur league if you finish the FR cup (250-300hp event) you will win the Toyota sprinter GT apex shegeno version which sells for 125,000cr. Also the NA cup is a 3 event series worth 15,000cr each and the prize car is the Mazda RX-8 which sells for 75,000cr. Thats really good money early in the game.

All I remember was my most important cars to help me progress being: the TVR Griffin, Ford Mustang and Nissan Skyline GT-R r32 or 33 (1989). Those 3 cars do a lot in game kitted out making some races too easy, the Viper gts is a good pick too once fully kitted out 💯

The thing about the TVR Griffith, Ford Mustang and the Viper GTS is that they are all Naturally Aspirated FR cars so theyre all useful for the same races. The Mustang/Viper are better as theyre useful for the Stars and Stripes challenge. The R32 is the only 80's skyline so its useful for the 80's challenge in beginner and amateur, any skyline (even the race cars) are good for doing the Red Emblem challenge. Plus the skylines are Turbo and mostly 4wd. An NA FR car plus a turbo 4wd is a good combo as that covers all FR, 4WD, Turbo and NA challenges if you kit any of the cars out, but you only need 2 cars across all these challenges.

This Vertigo car is pretty decent, it has good acceleration and handling. I'm using it against cars with more HP and still wins. There is also the Red emblem amateur event which rewards 30k for a 3 laps race, not as efficient but still good, it's more than the professional one which give 25k for 10 laps race.

i am surprised nobody mentions beginner type-r challenge where we win 35k (25k for 5 races if we win each plus 10k championship winning bonus) in cash plus Acura RSX Type-S which is worth 75k which can be sold and won again everytime we re-do the championship. It's literally 110k in 15-20 minutes at the very first league. From what I've read though, Acura is worth 75k in PAL/NTSC-U version of GT3. In Japanese version it's seemingly worth 7,5k.

Yeah this trick works at all points of the game. If you're midgame, you really can just do the Amateur European championship with a mid-game car (if you have one good enough), roll for the race car and sell it over and over again. I only show how to get an OP lancer before that in case people are literally just starting a new game. As long as you have a car good enough to beat the Amateur American/European championships, you can just win the first 4 races, save, then re-roll for the race car, sell it, and repeat.

Yes, in GT3 you can win the same prize car every single time you complete the championship. So after you win and sell (or keep) the Vertigo, just start the championship up again and do the exact same thing.

I know there's cheat mod on psx2 but this way doesn't feel like a cheat. its just a loophole the game didn't think about when it came out. Now to do more research on the best cars for the different races in category from armature, rally, professional and so on. thanks for the tips.

I would, but the reality is you can just win the F1 car in the super speedway endurance once you have this lancer and the IA license, then beat every single race where it is eligible in. After you win those races, you can simply enter the one-make races such as the Tuscan challenge in a Speed 6 that you've just fully upgraded and its an easy win. There are very few exceptions

You will need to improve your driving skills, but don't be too deflated, it comes with lots and lots of practise. If you are unable to do it with this car, you can find any way of buying another car or just start with the mazda mx-5 as your starter car, then do the sunday cup and sell the ae86, and you'll have about 7,000 to spend on your mx-5. you can beat the clubman cup (even without upgrades on it) for another $4,500 and then sell that mx5 because you already own one - this should give you another $9,000. If you spend all that money wisely on your mx5 you might find it easier. You could buy NA stage 1, Racing Chip, Lightweight Stage 1, The Stage 3 Exhaust and still have money leftover. Ultimately the farming gets off the ground once you can consistently beat a race in the beginner NA cup, so just do whatever you need to do to reach that point. If you're finding Apricot Hill hard, try the Grand Valley race - you may find it easier. The reason I don't suggest the viewer does the Grand Valley race was simply because its longer and therefore slower to farm money from it. If you want any other pointers let me know.

No, I'm not sure what part you are missing. By buying upgrades for it, then buying it on a different memory card, you just get free upgrades. When you buy the car from a different memory card, it has the same price as normal but has the upgrades on it. So if you do this 5 times with 5 upgrades you get 5 free upgrades.

yeah gran turismo 4 is probably way less balanced, probably they didnt pay too much attention to it and its naturally more explosive because there are so many random events where you win either a super strong car or something thats completely useless in the campaign

Let me answer your question with my own question: Why use the PAL version? NTSC runs at 60hz, not 50hz, so it looks better. NTSC versions also have more variety of formula 1 cars instead of the 2. Also, I have an NTSC ps2 and not a PAL ps2, and if you're emulating on PC theres no reason to not use the NTSC version in my opinion because as i stated the refresh rate is higher so the game runs smoother at 60fps not 50fps. The only argument is that the PAL soundtrack some people might prefer but I play with the in game music off anyways.
