OP Lightning Build 2 Electric Boogaloo

This is my best attempt at mastering the modern changes to electricity builds (though it seems like it may be changed yet again as patches continue) so that means we will have many more fun lightning runs to come!

The reason that viewer build works so well is bevause of a bug with budding tyat makes it so if a detached piece splits apart, both parts will fully regenerate into the full piece, so when he spawns the tiny lightning bug it damages itself, breaking apart in tue process, and each part regenerates into another full one. Then lightning hits other amp cells, overcharging them amd producing bigger lightning and causing a feedback loop.

Is that a bug? That just sounds like what budding is meant to do. And actually it kinda sounds like the only practical way to apply budding (since in most other summon builds it doesn't seem to make a notable difference)

@hamishfox actually its not really, because it often causes a billion budding offshoots to undergo rapid mitosis and eat your framerate by multiplying constantly.

4:25 I actually picked it up after seeing one of your videos, because it reminds me of one of my favourite things in all of gaming.... the first stage in "Spore". I actually finished my first run today (big chungus block that fires regenerating, explosion-immune, exploding , seeking rockets (explosion triggered on contact)

You made me pick up the game! I tried a lightning build and it didn't work out too well, and yeah I think alternate health like Fat cells that are highly resistant to non-spike damage would be really nice for shock builds, and it'd be far less feast-or-famine than grounding cells

I really enjoyed the noita guided runs you did. If you want more noita views I'd suggest maybe collaborating with other smaller youtubers and coaching them as they play their first runs. Could be a good way to drive cross traffic.

I don’t know were to send the dev any ideas but some of my cell idas -small heart weaker in all aspects but regen triggers faster costs the same -large heart stronger but regen triggers slower Costs more -fat cell Can burn, decent armor and decent storage costs a lot could make it cost more depending on how many you have placed -friction cell takes range the faster you go but generates smaller arcs of lightning spending on speed -cell wall Ok cell for defense but if every cell on the out side is cell wall it is significantly better Or a cell wall -warmer cell, boosts fire cells near it but harms lightning cells and flammable cells -cooler cell nerfs cells around it but if near a spike makes the spike slow the speed and regen of enemy’s it hits

I think the full version needs to focus on scaling. As you get bigger you should be able to bud off full versions of yourself or build massive power generators to create super electricity or anything in between. I want to see this ramp up to infinity.

13:22 i beat this thing twice in the secret boss-only area with a simple stage 1 (i got there real early) electricity build (slow as anything due to hard cell drag, 3 electricity cells, 3 activation cells) and both bosses went down with me alive of course and i got a ton of XP, clearly, electricity op.

Don't know if anyone mentioned it but when thinking about different health I was thinking about shield cells or over health cells that give health on kill and the more over health cells the more over health you can store.

Challenge Run idea: creative mode challenge. Use at least one of each cell type effectively in a single build, as small as possible. The size limit is there to keep you vulnerable and not abuse being able to just be a giganto heard from LoZ 😂

That's a song from Nier automata, that game's whole OST is bangers. Folks have been talking about reassembly along with sipho and a whole bunch of other cell games. If I find the time perhaps I could go through them as a little event of some sort!

You can not do the huge lightning stuff anymore, got patched out. The user submitted video is in sandbox mode and does not have the new cells = old version when this was still possible. I made a post explaining how to do it on the Steam forums early November when people were complaining about lightning builds being weak and useless. I guess Mr Dev-Guy either saw how absurd it was there or people discovered/took it to Discord, either way it was patched out right away in the patch afterwards which is a little sad because it was fun not just for the lightning but making epic lights, power up capacitors and the other type that I forget the name of that sends multiple pulses for some very bright and nice pulsing lights along your body.

Def need smthn to limit ability spam, something akin to stamina, maybe hardcap summons to a certain number, where new ones replace the old once you reach your summon cap. unless you take a boss perk to double down on summons, removing or increasing the limit.

I was messing around with lightning in sandbox and made a design that breaks down from the electricity but I had budding so they would make a full piece that would continue to shock but if too many were near by they would constantly make new ones so I had an area that made so many that it was an infinite loop that made so many that my game went down to 3 fps

I think fat cells would be a really good idea, but they'd be something tough to really put a purpose to... maybe they could store a LOT of biomass per cell, and give faster regen to cells nearby them?

Store a lot of energy, but don't regenerate it without life steal. Maybe add a cold mechanic and make them cold resistant l?

@@z.t.w.7440 maybe they work better for breakaway/summoner builds? Fixed amount of energy they have for rebuilding, so you can have an expiration on your summons when they burn all the fat

These are all incredible ideas, it would be hard to pick one to make a fat cell for... Maybe depending on certain nearby cells, the fat cell can do a little bit of all of these? Could extend the effects of nearby cells like the insulator, mimic something like growth gate and only gets triggered if a vampire cell leeches energy, etc
