Sorry for messing this up but: You need a Dragon Ruler with Order affinity for the later Tome Unlocks. Tiger Updates Affinity system still is hard on my theorycraft, I beg thee forgiveness much!

Fine enough build, but it would be refreshing to see a build from you that doesn’t always go mana channelers or powerful evokers. There’s a whole myriad of society traits to choose from, and we so rarely see any of them in your videos. I did enjoy this though, so thank you

Hey there! Well, the main reason are two things: 1.) Shadow affinity is kinda broken and reaps too high rewards in knowledge, that's why I play it every culture. Leave it out for sth else, but at the end of the day it's really mostly about that 150 knowledge per hero kill. 2.) If the other cultural traits would serve while min-maxing, I'd choose them. Age Of Wonders 4 sadly doesn't have too many "really good" traits. Many of them are rather lackluster compared to the ones you see too many times on my end. So as soon as Triumph buffs those other traits, I'll also play them more. But if I tag a build as OP I'm min-maxing stats. And I feel not able to with the other traits. Hope this makes sense, I'm still working on other alternatives cause I'm not 100% happy about this myself either!

Feudal are in a terrible spot compared to the other cultures right now. I mean their cultural bonus is okay, but their base roster is so meh, that they fall behind basically all other options these days. I have experimented a bit with them, the results are okay but nothing is too wow to me. They really suffered most from the new governor and hero system cause they basically lost their entire special thing (different lords for different bonuses). I got a feeling that they will be the next rework, but I honestly don't have a clue. That all being said, I'll do my best research to get some oomph outta them in the current state of affairs.

@Ic0nGaming that's kind of where I was at with them too ... I tried making a "Richard the Lionheart" themed cat race with them but honestly was kind of boring 😞 Here's hoping for something in the way of a rework or buff

@@Tuki_Bird as I understand, Devs plan to give subculture rework for every culture, Feudal got broken by Hero rework so this culture is probably high on the to do list. Think Giant Ruler DLC will come with Industrious Subcultures, more thematic, Feudal could be in Update that comes between DLC, we had those updates in First Expansion Pass

Unfortunately, the build has a design error: 1 order affinity is missing to unlock the T4 Order Tomes, and it is not enough for Tome Of Prosperity either. Otherwise, I had a very similar approach for my first/once build so far with the Righterous Oathsworn Culture (including the Graceful Judge Mounts), but with a slightly different focus. Society Traits: Devotees Of Good Keepers Of Knowledge Both work very well with the Righterous Oathsworn Culture, which rewards good alignment. Keepers Of Knowledge enables strong Free City Diplomacy and gives us Shadow Affinity for Knowledge Extraction. Tomes: T1: Pyromancy, Faith T2: Revelry, Mayhem T3: Sanctuary, Cleansing Flame T4: Chaos Channeling, Exaltation T5: God Emperor Militarily, the army composition is similar: Mounted Honor Blades, Vowkeepers and Pyromancers. The heroes are also mounted if possible, so that the armies are very fast strategically and tactically. From the midgame onwards, there are also slower armies with high tier infantry. Unit summons are used little. Strategically, the build stands out due to strong Free City Diplomacy (Keepers Of Knowledge + Tome Of Faith + Order Affinity). The combination of Fire + Spirit Damage, Burning, Cleansing Flames also makes it very strong against Umbral Units (I always play with active Umbral Abyss)

Ah, the Cleansing Flame Tome always messes me up with their dual affinities. Picking a Dragon Ruler can fix it though cause they still add affinity points. The new Tiger updates affinity system keeps messing me up more often than I like, very sorry about that.

Also have put your correction on the top of the comment list cause you really got a point there. Tiger Updates affinity system makes me mess up my sources of affinity so often (like not noticing only to have my affinities together cause of Order Dragon Lord). @@Ic0nGaming Yes. Alternatively, you can replace Tome Of Devastation with Tome Of Sanctuary, for example. The front liners then cause less damage (Crit), but are much more robust thanks to Steadfast and Anointed People. Edit: That wouldn't work, then Chaos affinity is missing.
