Thanks for this. Sentinel alone is such a huge damage reduction that i was stunned how tanky I was with just sentinel up. I'll try to use this as my build for the 100->300 road :)

I'm still taking break damage for some reason. I got sentinal up and I am using the link ability, but I am still taking some break damage. Anything I'm missing or doing wrong?

There is a Critical HP Drain Build for Knuckle user. It act as blood weapon but you need to critical. It can heal about 700 to 1000+HP when use Level 2 knuckles buff (aka red knuckles aroma)with a strong critical attack. It a instant free potion. To activate you need to equip HP Critical to 1 or more of gear. Couple with the Job Master Menu you can stack up to 50%+. This stat can couple with all weapon, but each weapon has a secret invisible critical threshold before your attack turn to critical hits only. Lancer are the fastest to enter critical mode with regular mashing and is constant.Knuckle it takes about 30 to 50 hits to reach knuckles buff lvl2 and critical mode. Once in this state a strong attack will activate the effect and reset the Knuckle buff duration which is 10 seconds. With lancer it is 10 to 12 hits to enter critical mode.

DO TAKE NOTE, AFTER TESTING >>> This ONLY works (full 100% effect) on WARRIOR job. Marauder LLL > R (PC controls 3rd link combo) damage reduction is NOT as high as warrior's. Swordman hold L > R (PC control, hold link combo) damage reduction is NOT as high as warrior's. I tried making a 3rd link combo starfall build using marauder similar to this but was wondering why my sentinel didn't hold as well as a NAKED warrior using any 2nd link combo. Then I went to do extensive testing and found that warrior's damage reduction is the ONLY method to get 100% break gauge invulnerability when sentinel skill is paired with reduce damage combo link. Marauder and swordman do not give 100%. Probably around 50-70% (this I cannot test reliably)

@@HDHaZmY On Kraken the yellow thing doesn't seem to appear for whatever reason but when I do the same exact thing on normal mobs it works. No clue why, I do excactly the same attack:p But anyway it's very weak, the amount of dmg monsters do is way too high for this even with both things on.

@@The69Oskar69 you need to hit your last string of attack (i assume, I'm not sure if all has to hit or only the last one before the combo skill) for it to work. If the boss is out of range or dodges before your last hit, the combo skill won't get the benefit.

both good for different reasons. Stranger is can be played in co op with your friends and is mission based, while Tales is a more single player straightforward JRPG.

If you guys want a fun alternative playstyle; swordfighter (I think, maybe swordsman) has this auto-parry type of ability. turns out IF you parry while the auto-parry is on, it still activates, BUT you don't lose it. So all you have to do is keep parrying the enemies moves until it's dead. Made the final boss a cakewalk for me. The one tip is be mindful of your break gauge as that DOES still deplete (though probably not if you combine it with sentinel as shown in this video :0).

None, you unlock jobs by completing the job trees on any mode. Chaos mode is to limit break to lvl 99. You can beat the game on story mode and focus on farming high lvl gear in Chaos mode. Exp doesn’t change between story, normal, hard or chaos mode.

I still take break damage through sentinel, so idk what youre doing that makes you not but interesting build skeleton regardless, would prolly get boring using only 1 combo link tho.

Sentinel alone is not enough - nor is the combo link. They work together, like it's explained in the video. While it is 1 combo link, you can choose from a dozens of abilities that you can mix up into cancels and switches - no need to follow a rigid rotation, when unnecessary - you can and should still play normally and punish boss windows with normal abilities. This just allows you to be aggressive any time.

@@MapleOre the only answer i have is you maybe lost the sentinel buff during the attack, tried myself against Kraken and had no problem about it (unless there is a factor we don't know)

It is tested while Naked on this very video - so there is no secret to it, Sentinel in itself doesn't prevent break damage - they have to be used together.

@@MapleOre I tested, if you are NOT using warrior job and instead using marauder or swordsman (both have damage reduction on other combo links), then the amount of reduced damage is NOT enough to fully nullify break damage. See my latest comment on this video for clarity. Only warrior job 2nd combo link has the maximum and most damage reduction bonus.

Do you get all lower tier affinity perks when you get higher affinity percent or is it whatever tier you're on and that's it. Also if the perks are cumulative or stacking, do the hp buffs and perks that seem like higher versions of earlier perks stack? Or do those kinds overwrite lesser tiers?

Its cumulative. Whatever tier you're at, you have all of the lower affinity perks. Mostly that is just stats until you get closer to max tier.
