I feel like that's the mindset of most Western players. At least in my experience, which I've only played maybe a dozen and a half games with Eastern players so take it with a pinch of salt, but it feels to me like Westerners definitely go for risky, hail Mary type plays way more than anybody I've played from the East.

I think he was playing too safe. He needed *all* 5 cards to be 2k. In the last 2 turns, he demonstrated that he had little to no counter, so it was incredibly unlikely that he had it. Playing it too safe could've given him a chance to come back if he had blockers.

They play swiss rounds into a top 8 bracket (what this starts at)

@@bojanraw oh I see what you mean now! I’m not sure since I have never played in a Japanese 3v3, but throughout the tournament each team stays in the same order. So when they enter the event, I assumed they designate each player as 1, 2, or 3 and then pair like numbers in matches

@@bojanraw All Team has a Player A, B and C. Player A will challenge player A, etc. The registered player A,B,C in each team are to stick to the same order as registered, across the tournament.
