Opal pricing is the wild west. The truth lies somewhere between what it would take to pry it from my hands and how badly the other person wants it. Most jewelry folks aren't going to see enough gem opal of high quality pass by to discern a reasonable offer.. the folks at that gemshow are bigtime and have the proper exposure to bigtime stones.. they're the ones getting a call from their friends asking for help to price an opal that walked into their store

Claim No; 1 was preferential to produce opal and I drilled 36x9"auger holes 18 holes were trough the hard silcrete that all produced opal potch crashed and gem color. other rest of the holes were not hard and was no silcrete and no traces of opal. Warking the claim for about 20 years I got good results one of the best gemstones was 15ct and it paid for all Opal Books we published and printed at the time 1986 and 1999 and also 2003.
