To quote my teacher Cory Pacquet Clouston, RealTime Simulation is Simulation of a model where the calculations for the model are constrained by a realtime clock. The models calculations must be executed within real time ie inside a fixed time step. Contrast this with offline simulation where the calculations for the model have no time constraint and the objective is to complete the calculation. Realtime simulation concepts are fundamentally important for connecting the real world with a simulated digital world.
