Raila is going to to be the chair AU no doubt and I'm saying so following the events that unfolded recently at the swearing in of Rwandan president Paul Kagame where the number of sitting presidents in Africa in attendance was overwhelming then present also was the current chair Moussa Faki and his secretary and present also was the former president of Nigeria Olesegun Obasanjo and I'm sure there are events which unfolded behind the curtain because Raila also was present at that swearing ceremony including his president William Ruto.So Raila has officially handed over ODM brigade to President Ruto because Raila did not want to leave Odm in the wilderness but in safe hands of William Ruto and his action is not for nothing but correspondence to 2007 general election where Kalonzo's spanner-boy now senator for Makueni one Daniel Kitonga Maanzo took original Odm party registration certificate and ran away with it then Kalonzo used the same certificate to run for president and became no.3 and while the Serena accord was still being negiatiated at Serena hotel, Kalonzo had already jumped the fence and had already been named vice president by the late President Mwai Kibaki and Daniel Kitonga Maanzo became CS ministry of Sports and youth. It is Ruto among afew others who remained hard on Raila not to accept anything lesser rather than that he had won the election and Kibaki should surrender power to him and it is this strong stand by William Ruto that sent him to the Hague being named among the Ocampo six list culprits following post election violence in 2008.So, its clear Raila trusts Ruto more as compared to Kalonzo because Ruto suffered at the Hague due to defending Raila presidency and if you are still in doubt it is during the 2022 general election when Raila sought a running mate that he sent Kalonzo for vetting before the Noah Wekesa led committee which sat at Serena hotel for suitability test but his mind was clear that he was not going to nominate him; I mean somebody who has stood with someone as running mate for two consecutive elections; 2013 and 2017 and has been a vice president in Kenya for five years why should he be subjected for scrutiny to assess his running mate suitability; what the fuss! does it make sense?
