Boy... they spent a lot of time listing off the people who don't support 118 and not mentioning many that do support it. I would have liked to hear some groups that support this.

@@Firefenex1996 The unity that I’ve heard from experts against 118 means either 1) it is a substantial threat to the establishment, so elite interests hate it or 2) it really is just terrible economics, and all sides want to distance themselves as much as possible from it. It’s hard to figure out which is which in the current informational environment. What I settle on is that if we want to tax the rich, we should tax the rich - but a corporate tax is not a simple tax on the rich. They can and will just displace the burden back to consumers and outweigh the benefit of the rebate.

@jacob73124 i think the two taxes you mentioned are intertwined, but not geographically. To tax the rich would mean a corporation can offset the difference and continue to pay the rich their current rate. The big issue with this one is we would assume the rich live in oregon which I dont think the ceos and upper management for kroger, walmart, etc., necessarily live in oregon. So the corperate tax ensures oregon gets the money for business operation. One thing I think the yes side is banking on is the FTC and potentially Kamala going after any price gouging in the aftermath. To simply raise rates to increase your profit is illegal. My main reason for my initial comment is that it simply sounds like one sided reporting.
