Could you please explain what you exactly did? What kind of Spray did you use and where did you aply it? Do you think this will last or does this simply cover up ab bigger problem for a small period of time? I would realy apreciate an answer!

I sprayed a multi purpose lubricant on the shifting linkage. Having the original shifter from the year 99 there’s is some rust and not moving properly I’d say doing this every 6 months will help it move better, having it changed isn’t bad but for a car this age I’d rather avoid it since there’s nothing wrong with shifter. My shifter is located in the engine bay, you’ll find your easily when someone shift the car and you simply listen to it moving. I explained in more detail where I did the same on my Volvo. Cheers

You should clean all that dirt and oil before spraying grease or whatever you used... It's going to build up otherwise and you'll end up having a pile of shit on your engine bay

Sprayed lubricant having it move better which was well needed. During winters in my country I can’t work to much outside but yeah if I have the energy in summer I might clean it off. I view the car as a beater and change what I have to or do simple economical improvements. There’s nothing near that point that be damaged by having some oil and dirt or be blocked up. Basically it’d sit on a surface, not the easiest point to clean but heck I might try when the temperatures rise
