I had a Corsa as a rental car on my vacation last year, I was pleasantly surprised. A solid car for city traffic up to 120 km/h. Slightly sporty but pleasantly comfortable. definitely a small car that I would prefer.

As I am learning to drive in a 95 hp 2023 VW Polo that struggles more then this in 5th gear is pretty crazy. I have to shift into 4th if I want to go anywhere. That shows the torque this has that the car I learn to drive in doesn't have.

The 100 hp corsa feels a bit sporty even, it has good torque for the amount of power (205 Nm).

Top speed and acceleration indicate that it's indeed the 75 hp version, tho I agree that it looks quick on video. I have the 130 hp / 230 Nm version of this car and it pulls very well up to about 180 km/h (but takes a long time to reach top speed after that and uses a lot of fuel if you stay there)

75hp perfect for Wolt deliveries. Low fuel consumption, low cost for maintenance. Better than clio or punto.

118 mph and stable not bad, just got one in silver for my place in Spain €15800 brand new would have been €23200 in uk ! But I don’t think I’ll be going over 120 kph😅

Wow this car is pretty fast for 75hp. A 72hp Aygo can barely reach 160kph while this one easily does 180. Probably because the Astra's engine has more torque.

It's a city-car, what do you want? I had 75 hp like 20 years ago too, and it was great to get from A to B. Way better than bicycle.

@@MrZillas Well my gf has a clio 90 hp, 900cc. You would think it would be a small economic little banger but guess what - every move you makeeee (sting, ahem) you have to raise the rpm high and as the gears are pretty short, you also have to drive at high rpm on anything above 80+km/h. if you want to start moving anywhere you have to drop a gear or two and floor it. The result is that in reality, that clio will do about 6l/100km while my 2.0 200hp polo will do the same with 7 liters. What I'm trying to say is that for proper economy use, this is not enough HP unless you really never drive above 50km/h. In which case the car is too expensive for that use only.

Depends what you want, there is a 130HP 8 speed auto variant of the same car - that is suitable both for in the city and highways.

A 75HP car in 2024 is kinda wild. An old colleague got a Corsa F with a 1.2 and fuel economy is a constant issue for him, the advertised 4.4-5 is 8.5-9 and he's on highway 95% of the time. That fuel economy is worse than what I average in my 2007 Polo 4 1.4 at 7.3 and I drive it in cities and highways equally. Before I figured I'd just buy a used NA car instead of buying a brand new one at stupid prices I was looking at a Corsa F and a Fabia and for 1k€ less Skoda has a fucking 110HP offer with an automatic. Like, you read how efficient modern engines are and then there's shit like this.

@@hellcat69420 Read beyond the first sentence and you'll see my reasoning. Just because there's something more shit it doesn't justify this being shit. However, to reiterate what I wrote, it's a heavy car with a small ass engine that you have to spin high to go anywhere fucking over the fuel economy, something that cars in this category should excel at,. When cars decades older with bigger engines get similiar fuel economy there is something seriously fucked.

Mit 5 Gängen und der Leistung ist der halt nicht wirklich geeignet die Autobahn. Meiner hat 130 PS mit der 8-Gang-Automatik mit und dreht bei 100 km/h nur ca. 1800 U/min. Bei normaler Fahrweise kann ich auf der Landstraße mit unter 5 Litern fahren.

@@FabianSkilling soweit ich weiß, gibt es ab 2024 keine 8Gangautomatik mehr. Statt dessen ein 6Gang DSG vermutlich trocken. Mit vermutlich den selben Problemen wie bei VW.

What's the problem? 40 years ago people travelled with 25 hp through the country, 2 adults on the front-seats, 2 kids on the other seats, trunk full of luggage.

@@MrZillas Because of weight relative to the engine's power. a 75HP Corsa in the 90s was great, because those cars rarely weighed more than 900kg, this thing is at ~1200. Throw an AC into it along with the kids and wife and you'll be redlining to get moving at the light in the summer. Small engines with today's car sizes make no sense, because they're hurting the fuel economy, since you have to rev them higher. My Polo 4 with a 1.4 - mixed highway and city driving - gets better fuel consumption than my old coworker's 1.2 Corsa F - mostly highway - from 2023. We complained fuel consumption on the motorway last December and my car was 1L below his. 15 years of difference.

It's very pully for its engine under 80kph, but still miserable and you need to revv the crap out of it to get up to speed. I don't find a single reason to have an 1.2 liter engine, especially with such a crappy fuel consumption.
