I only played the game in the 90s, and I thought the whole point of Lara Croft was she was a rich loner, who's dad was an adventurer that died in mysterious circumstances. She takes up his mantle and becomes an adventurer too, but she didn't have a bunch of friends, she was a loner.

I watch Alex and Alexander on The Duran every day (my second favorite channel), and Alex Christoforou's own channel where he does walking tours around Cyprus and different European cities - I like getting a little history and culture mixed in with my geopolitical updates. I've been watching them for years. The Drinker could go on and just talk about free speech issues (particularly in Scotland and the dreaded Hate Monster) , censorship, nihilism in entertainment, and propaganda, he doesn't have to get into any of the weeds of politics specifically. I think he'd be great on that show, if he can't have deep philosophical discussions with the strippers in his life, he can talk to Alex and Alexander about deep, abstract subjects. I know Alex Christoforou is a Critical Drinker fan and I'm pretty sure he said that Alexander is too. Someone did a superchat a couple of days ago on The Duran suggesting that Drinker and Gary go on. I think everyone should be defending free speech, while we still have the chance - especially those folks whose jobs depend on being free to speak their minds.

There have already been quite a few genuinely good adaptations. But it's such a great story of redemption that I'll always watch the story again.

Since these comments won't really see the light of day (much like the Batwoman movie), I can toss my unpopular opinions into the mix. And that is that, I wish to warn the lads against something a little worse than wokeness or the radical left/right and that is confirmation bias. I personally do like putting these videos on as podcasts and listening to them as I work. However, I would like to have at least two or three guests come on that, I dunno, actually like The Acolyte (for example) or whatever actual dogshit show and they can give their point of view. I mean they could be completely and utterly wrong but at least you'd get another opinion. If not, its basically just an echo chamber, which is fine since it's the Drinker's show after all. That, however, would disconnect from the reality of how the show is actually received by general audiences.

I love The Force Awakens, think what you want about the sequel trilogy, but TFA was a fun, enjoyable film that got me interested in Star Wars in the first place.

O.o I don't fault you for enjoying it. But the most egregious criticisms are based on he context that the previous films provide. If TFA was your entry point into Star Wars, then it's unsurprising you don't have the same revulsion to it that other people do. Imo, it's a solid 6.5/10 plot without context and the great special effects make up for a lot. With context, it's a 3/10, which is astonishingly low for a film with it's heritage.
