gotta allow ventilation and circulation while the foam is curing within the 24hrs. usually i tell homeowners to keep ventilating for a day or two depending on how they feel comfortable with. i usually have a fan and hose sucking air out of the attic and also another fan and hose blowing air in to keep circulating air if i have enough room in openings like access doors.

There's no best insulation, it all depends on what you need it to do. Sometimes you want your insulation to also act as a vapor barrier, sometimes you want it to reduce sound, sometimes you want it to be flame resistant, sometimes you want it easy to install. Basements need different insulation than above grade. Different climates need different moisture barrier strategies

@ryalsackjon30203 жыл бұрын
A chemical reaction. This spray hose is connected to to barrels of chemicals. To work properly, they have to be heated to a certain temperature. Once the temp is reached, You unvalve the spray gun, and the chemical runs down separate hoses to the nozzle of the gun. At the last split second, when you pull the trigger, the gun allows the two chemicals to touch, the air hose on the gun blows it out, and the chemical starts reacting and expanding on the fly.

Spray foam is used as an air barrier, not a sound barrier. The finished sprayed product is made of a plastic, and while it may be a little squishy, it has an exterior that can let sound bounce off of it quite easily. Every room that our customers ask to be soundproofed, we line with mineral wool. It is a very thick, abrasive form of fiberglass that has little bits and pieces of sediment and rock that help to catch sound before it passes through the fiberglass. And it makes all the difference in the world.

@@mx500a4 it can be a problem for mortgage companies when approving home loans due to the spray foam insulation covering the roof structure, leaving their inspectors unable to see the condition of the wood members. If your roof has a hole in it for some reason, water can seep in and sit there rotting out the sheathing and growing mold, eventually the roof rafters and drywall if your attic is a finished living space. It might be a regional thing as well, but if it was my home, I’d go with rigid foam insulation instead.

This guy doesn’t even have a long sleeve on lol. He is gonna be covered from head to toe in foam! He should be wearing an air hood too. The charcoal respirator works but it doesn’t block everything. I sprayed for 10 years with the charcoal respirator and I became allergic to Isocyante because of that. I can’t spray anymore. I’m doing fine health wise just can’t be around foam anymore. I still do fiberglass but I always wear a mask!

You don’t get sensitized from wearing charcoal filters. Been foam for 12 years and my first 6 I used those filters with no issues.

Hope you are ok. Do you know how much it cost to spray foam a house like this
Can anyone say what material is it that they are spraying?

You have to be kidding me... It's open cell spray foam insulation ffs... The title literally tells you what it is

Since this guy who replied was rude as hell, this is Polyurethane Spray Insulation. Many companies make it, but theire ingredients can all be different.

@@twizz420 namaskaara brother🙏🏾. I reside in tropical climatic region and hence I've never seen such insulation being done anywhere. I am pretty sure you would be amazed by things that we do in this region as I was with this insulation spray. When a person asks a genuine question please answer them only if you want to. Please do not try to spread the poison that you have in you by being rude. Hope your friends and family do not see and tolerate this rude behaviour from you. 🙏🏾

@@ryalsackjon3020 thank you brother🙏🏾. I am working on a new type of air conditioning system for tropical climates and I wanted a good insulating material to insulate some pipes in the system. That's why I am interested in this material. They appear easy to apply and can be made to any shape. How are it's insulation properties? Any idea?
