One of The main reasons I love watching your videos is to get ideas on projects I can tackle as well as projects I SHOULD tackle. My home was built in the 50s so it’s getting close to its centennial birthday 😂 Also not having corporate sponsors dictate what to show or hide from final cut teaches life lessons like having real expectations for projects.

I helped financially with the renovation of three rooms of my mom's house, each with different flooring porcelain tiles. I bought like 15% more tiles boxes than needed just anticipating repairs years from now assuming the tiles become obsolete.

I love the fact that you started this episode off with how TV shows show drama just to show drama. I have always mentioned this fact to my mother who watches all the diy and renovation TV shows and how I can't stand the way they somehow always find a way to add the drama. And then your show ends on a high drama note! hahahaha Also, I'm not trying to pick on ya or say you're stupid or anything. Being in construction for a long time myself, I've run into situations that were out of my control or I messed up and found myself having to figure out a fix to the problems. We are all human and mistakes happen. Just gotta deal with them, get it done, and move on. Love your enthusiasm and content, Jeff. Cheers!

I like your comment about reno shows creating drama. There is a well known show out of Texas that, based on the show, I would never hire. Every episode is the Oh S*** moment of some major issue that would have shown up in any decent inspection. I know it is for drama but as an amature DIY'er its annoying.

Gotta say, Max & crew....love the editing & cinematography. Pretty awesome. Jeff & Fam....great job on the “show”👍🏻👍🏻 8:39 Unfortunately, some ppl don’t see the “crap”. Least in my family anyway. My family “believes” everything in those shows is real and 100% accurate to code. Sadly, googling the shows info, one can quickly see that “it’s entertainment tv” and most ppl don’t keep furnishings etc.... I’m in middle of huge remodel that my family is doing, and trying to lend help/expertise; but they think those HGTV shows are gospel and I don’t know anything, 🤦🏼 Gonna be a fun roller coaster ride next several months; and I hate roller coasters 😅 (It’s not easy working with family, & trying to “blend” what everyone envisions for a “”new remodeled home””; & some times....it’s impossible to even try (as sad & funny as that sentence is....”that is true” reality tv” 😉😁) Cheers✌🏻

Yeah I am afraid you are correct. Thanks for the nice comments. Well I know you've been watching for quite some time so I'll let ya Into some insider information. Last year we shot more footage in 1 year than we did I'm the previous 9 years combined. Not only did we have a ton of how to videos but what we captured was the entire story of Jeff and his family renovating the farmhouse. We are currently working on a newer style of video (something you would see on discovery Channel but without fake drama). What this means is a lot more coverage of story, highs and lows, and a huge increase in production value. First ep comes out in 3 weeks.

We are doing renovations to our home this year. Making it more adaptable for my daughter. This is an old house and the walls have tons of texture. Personally, not a fan. There are going to be a lot of spaces with new and old walls...hope that makes sense. I really hate the texture and honestly feel embarrassed to ask. Is it possible to change that up? If so, how? Is it a huge undertaking? I love the colors you have chosen and grey as well. Worried it will look awful with the texture. I hate cleaning these walls

Talking about water diversion, the house working in now, when it rains; the entire front, side, back yards turn into a pond. ZERO water diversion and the grading of the lot, wasn’t done very well. The living room looks beautiful! I absolutely love the paint colour. It looks much bluer than the swatch. Can you tell us what the colour is?

In a previous video he said he would not tell what color they used because the video editing includes color correction so what you see may not be the actual shade they used.

Sorry, I'm not trying to be outright negative here. But why you chose (in the same video) to look down on the TV guys n' girls that make a lot of drama, AND at the same time be a bunch of KZbin guys n' girls that make a lot of drama I don't know. Nobody watching this actually believe that Michelle didn't know about the flooring discontinuation before filming. This is the drama that you supposedly despise so much. I like watching you build, discuss, worry about colours, and be yourselves. Not so much this ambiguity :)

Looks like your 2x8 joist are actually 2inch x 8inch! Lol! Instead of today's 2x8s that are actually 1 1/2 x 7 1/4 . Lol! We are getting screwed by today's lumber company's!

I love your videos! One thing I noticed, you say "hot water heater". My Dad broke me of that habit years ago. He said "if it was hot to begin with, it wouldn't need heating". Hence, it's a water heater :) You do provide me with sooo much info, absolutely love your "tricks". As I am redoing my house, wondering WTH the previous "contractor" did, in addition to my knowledge, your videos are the BOMB!!!
