@@hajinhajinkim hiiiiii! I’m planning on doing software eng next year (part 2), and was wondering how it was for you. I am SUPER nervous - mainly because I only started coding from last semester (enggen 131). I’m not sure how much of a step up it is, and think I may be at a slight disadvantage compared to others. I was even considering dropping soft to take civil as I thought it would be “easier” and more manageable. I would really love to hear your experience and your feedback on the courses (particularly the electrical courses as i suck at it), and would really appreciate any tips on how to catch up with the other experienced programmers during this summer break! Thank you so much :) and sorry for the LONG message 😅 Edit: Oh and one more final thing (super sorry), what language would you recommend to start learning that would be best to learn for the Part II courses next year ?

@@infuze6647 Well... Was it worth worrying over?

@@tetryzs ahh haha ive finished my degree this year. i wouldn't say it was worth worrying over too much. you need to genuinely be interested in this stuff and be excited to make projects. thankfully i do really like the things so i've kept working behind the scenes to make things, and that's kind of what is needed to get your foot through the door. Internships are stupidly competitive at the moment, but having good projects and good team experiences help out a lot (especially when talking in interviews and all). AI was also a little worrying, but I still think there'll be software roles (not completely gone) but just have to really kind of dedicate your time into learning - its super constant learning and it just never stops, which ig is good and bad. just have to stay committed. That being said, super important to balance this with other activities. Sorry for the huge message ahah but tldr: not too much worrying, but a lot of constant work is needed to keep up with the pace!
