Top explaination. Great video as always man! USB isolator also solved my Pedals interferences issue. Recommended!

For ffb stering wheel we us SC motor but In which you use ac motor and DC power supply?I can't understand can u help me sir?

Geat video, I was checking the datasheet of the mige m130st-10025 and it says that ppr is equal to 2500 converting to cpr should be 10000 cpr, your motor is different? I own a m130st-10010 but using argon, i was wondering if openffb would have better ffb than argon

If I already have a driver can I just use the usb interface and plug it all in?
@feao82610 ай бұрын
Like using a closed loop stepper, can I use a closed loop stepper driver instead of the bottom board below the usb interface? Because the bottom board Is essentially just a driver right?
@Gigawipf10 ай бұрын
@@feao826No. Stepper drivers are not supported and do not have a FOC torque mode. It is not possible to use them for FFB. It must be one of the supported motor drivers (or one that takes a PWM torque value).

ok thanks thats what i figured cuz iv been tryna do it through driver and arduino but is very difficult @@Gigawipf

Nice firmware, I love the telemetry of signals, and that it has some advanced finetuning, like manually tweaking the PIDs of its own while also having the classic Autotune. And happy that there is availability of the full kit again! Think I will start saving some money towards it, would be a handy upgrade from my old IONICUBE. While it's not explained, I see there is a profile manager below, so I take that you can save different profiles for different settings altogether if different games or even different wheels on a game require it?
@madbull466610 ай бұрын
Yep theres a profile manager, great for different games settings

Open FFBoard seems like a fantastic DIY FFB solution. General question; Is it possible to make the OpenFFBoard work with directly interfacing regular AC servo drives using modbus instead of the TMC drives? I have noticed that many AC servos motors comes as kits with drive units included that usually seem to support position, speed and torque control and encoder readback. If not, is there a specific reason not to use these?
@madbull466610 ай бұрын
Those are not really good for our application at all, they are normally very noisy with signal and don't support many of the functions needed to produce good FFB. You can use Odrive/Vesc if the tmc is a little too expensive as they are half the price, they produce good quality ffb too.

How does the STM32F407 board communicating with the TMC4671 motor driverboard ? I don't see any connections between those two boards but somehow the data is flowing there.

Great stuff you've made! Quick question, I've got an old hoverboard motor laying around. As it's also just a bldc motor, would your setup work if I add a suitable encoder? I can't see why not, other than it being a bit weaker than that servo. Or am I missing something? Thanks!
@Gigawipf9 ай бұрын
Motor will need some modifications to mount the encoder and other hardware to it but yes i have seen people use these motors successfully.

@@Gigawipf Thank you very much for responding so quickly. I'm sure gonna give it a try. Maybe also an idea for you for a future video. I've seen multiple people ask for it on demo video's and I couldn't find any good hoverboard to ffb wheels tutorials. Hoverboard motor are very easy to find and are very cheap. I also think/hope they can make a very compact and capable ffb wheel. Thanks again for all your great work!
