So people can understand: Legally, Cobourg can not evict homeless people off of crown land UNLESS there is a shelter in place that can take them in. However, if said shelter IS available and a homeless person camping on public property REFUSES to go the shelter then the police are legally allowed to arrest/charge/remove the vagrants and confiscate any alcohol or illegal drugs they have. So, by having the shelter(which will have a zero-drug and alcohol policy) Cobourg’s homeless population will drastically go down VERY quickly.

@@CodyRichardssee how many junkies are down at the beach this summer, that’s the real test. Anything can look good on paper, won’t know until it’s put into practical use. BC decriminalizing hard drugs look good on paper too…. 😅
