hi sir!! I've been following you on KZbin for a while, I really like your videos and especially the flutes you make, I'm interested in the PVC ones, you make a great sound out of them!! How do you make them not sound "blown". Thank you very much.

With rim-blown flutes like this one the size and depth of the embouchure affect the tone a lot; chiffy vs clear tone. The smaller are easier to keep clear sounding. Also the blowing technique is very important factor in controlling the sound.

Hola señor!! Primero gracias por contestar. Veo que el grosor del tubo de PVC que utilizas es de 1.5mm, yo utilizo uno de 2 mm de pared, crees que eso es un factor para que no tenga un sonido limpio? Gracias!!

@@alejandrosureda1210 The flute in this video is made out of aluminium. And yes this pipe's wall is 1.5mm. Thinner wall does give cleaner sound and also increase volume. Lighter materials like pvc usually give breathier sound. I tested two of my shakuhachis: Pvc 1.9 mm wall, alumium 2mm wall. In breathiness there is no huge difference while the tone is different.

@@osflutes5141muchas gracias!! Habrá que buscar PVC más fino, aunque solo encuentro de 2mm. A seguir probando. Un saludo
