So I watched too many Dyson videos to count. My direct drive motor would only spin without the brush connected. I needed to take the motor off at the wiring end and do it without breaking the darn thing and could only get it back together watching this video. I wish you removed the motor all the way to the end where the wires connected but you got me far enough to figure it out! Thanks! Dyson store tried to sell me another direct drive cleaner head. My Dyson is only 3 years old and it appears a piece in the side where the wires connect seem to have melted near the teeth and caused it to jam, I pried it out and now it works. I hope it lasts a few more months. Thanks again!

How do you access the brushed dc motor within the grey plastic bar? I've never seen a tutorial explaining this particular breakdown step
@OpenMeUpTec11 ай бұрын
since only special people would need to get to the motor i didnt show it in the video as most normal people dont need access to it to clean
@hunterjoos150411 ай бұрын
I ended up figuring it out on my own. There's a series of tabs and small screws that hold the gearbox and motor in. The bearing is secured with a spring clip, and the whole thing presses together tight with a double o-ring seal. Added special grease to the planetary gearbox and it runs much better. Better suction, had loose gaskets everywhere. Considering making my own video demonstration for it.
@La_Vi_12 күн бұрын
@@hunterjoos1504 Please do! I pulled off part of it to clean and now I can't put it back together!
@hunterjoos150412 күн бұрын
@@La_Vi_ HEY it's honestly hilarious that you found this comment, I actually ended up doing a full teardown of the thing and I can explain how to reassemble it. If you have exposed the DC motor itself, deep within the inner plastic rotor housing lies a set of nylon planetary gears that you must align with the gear on the spindle of the motor. Be sure to attach the power cables to the motor BEFORE inserting into the housing. Then once the motor is seated properly in the housing, it is attached by three screws, two on the sides and one attached to the spindle of the motor. The screw for the spindle is longer than the others because it must go through the plastic rotor that interfaces with the brushbar. There is a small piece of rubber that goes into the rotor housing that dampens vibrations. The whole housing then twists into the outer shell, there are routes for the cables to lie in, it is imperative that the cables are seated properly because they are moving parts. The brushbar slides over the rotor housing and the bottom plastic outer of the head is attached with the 8 or so screws. I'm sure there's a couple steps I'm missing but the planetary gears and wires are the steps you want to watch out for. Everything else should be pretty straightforward. I never really took apart the rolling ball part that thing is some sort of Swedish magic, albeit you don't need to disassemble it to access the motor. I hope this helps and good luck

So far so good with this vacuum. kzbin.infoUgkx8ISPQRRAfpAaX4msGjyodObTBnlj4T5g I was a little concerned to find it seems to be all plastic, but the reviews were good, so I'm hoping for the best. Very easy to assemble Recommened, and only attachments I've used so far work well, and are easy to use. Doing a good job on the new carpet in my bedrooms and stairs. Works well on the hardwood on my main floor too. Reasonable weight and cord length. I already knew from an earlier review that it wouldn't fit under furniture, but I can use my Eufy for that, so no problem - the high traffic areas that need a stronger suction was really what I bought this for. If it continues as it's started, it will be a good buy and well worth the money. I have had two Shark Rocket stick vacs in the past that are super easy to use, but the motors just don't last well, even with scrupulous cleaning of the filters. I'm hoping for better with this Bissell.

Thanks for the video. I didn’t have to do all these operations cause my V7 Animal motorhead wasn’t too dirty. But what I discovered removing the blue cilinder of the brush was that the grey stick under it (the motor, actually) has a cracked piece. I went to the vendors cause the vacuum cleaner is still covered by an extended purchase guarantee and they rejected my claim on the ground that the brush is an expandable piece and therefore not covered by the extended purchase guarantee. Has anybody else faced a similar problem? The only solution seems to be buying a new brush…

Mine was stopping intermittently, I opened it up, I found out that the black wire is cut off from the base, since it been more than 2 years of purchase, Dyson is not doing anything. They insist that I need to buy new head. Someone please tell me there is a solution to my problem

you need to reconnect the wire and it should work. i assume you dont understand this since you are asking me. otherwise you have to buy another head.

This is such a nightmare and for the price Dyson need to be ashamed of themselves, never again!! How come sound stopped on reassembling? or did this only happen to me

i show you how to reassemble it but dont talk you through it since i already talked you through it at the start . you should be able to reassemble it without me explaining stuff
