Very helpful. I went as far as pulling the motor control pcb out as ours had a mysterious fault that the head motor would spin initially then not restart unless left for a while. When I pulled the pcb out it was wet. Careful discussion with the principal user confirmed the head had been cleaned out with a wet sponge. Drying in a warm place cured the fault.

you need to open it up and see the thing with water is that it will rust your connection. it has been the long so that is probably not the issue. the second issue is that water will short curciut the item and could be the reason it is not working. so open it up and see if there is still water left.

@@jtbwatson Sorry to hear that. Here is what I did/will do. 1. I will NEVER vacuum while the floor is wet! 2. I did carefully rinse PARTS of the head under water. As long as you do NOT get the motor wet, you should be fine. 3. I will run my compressor in the morning and will try to "blast" the DRIED dirt off. 4. I will buy distilled water, put that in a spray bottle and blast the entire head with it. I will also completely submerge the head in the DISTILLED water and then blast it with compressed air. Remember, distilled water will NOT harm your electronics. Thanks. Edit: Had a few autocorrect errors, ha ha. There is also no way I will ever take the head apart like that. I refuse. This is ridiculous! No one should have to do that so they can clean their vacuum head...

thanks for your support. at least you can disassmbly this. some brand dont even let you disassemble the head to clean it so after 1 year it is useless.

@@ericb6481 I tried a few different things to clean the inside (other side of the see through plastic) and the best thing I cam up with is to just take a moist rag and "sent it" through the head. I do this buy hand, not using any power from the vacuum. Just stick one end of the rag in, and start turning the brush by hand. As it passes through the head, it will tough the plastic wall and clean it... Hope this helps.

If you are going to the trouble of cleaning this Dyson Head and voiding the warranty. You may as well just buy a new one.

dyson is so over priced its just stupid.. can get the same part after market for like $25 and with LED headlights. that part there from dyson is $160 total rip off
@OpenMeUpTec Жыл бұрын
i can confirm that the after market one is not the same and is worst than the original. considering the price, the after market one is alot cheaper for the performance hit

Says it all how poorly designed this vacuum is, one shouldn't have to disassemble the head like this just to get it thoroughly cleaned. Rubbish. I feel I wasted my money on this crap. Great video, but it shows just how poorly designed this thing is
@OpenMeUpTec3 жыл бұрын
you are saying that becuase you have not seen how the other companies do it. this is the best there is. you have not seen there are many you cant disassemble to clean. at least this one you can clear it and put it back together.

Hey Dyson system engineers- make sure you add to your user requirements: “must be easy to dis- assemble & clean”. Not like this POS

@@OpenMeUpTec I had an Electrolux I bought over 10 years ago that had better design for cleaning the heads. I think I paid 40 dollars for it, so...there's that. Also, the argument that it's fine because others are worse is not really a good argument considering this thing is twice the price of any other on the market. TBH I am not overly impressed with it overall either, pretty average vacuum cleaner, with a luxury price tag. So not worth it.

@@AlvenmodFoto thats was yeas ago. it is how things are now. example the below vacuum from electrolux. you can not clean it, since it was not made to be disassembled. majority of the stuff is one way only, so once it was made, you cant remove it. so once use it and it get dirty, you need to bin it. it is not just them, all the other companies that make battery power vacuums basically have this issue. the only vacuum that is easier to clean than the dyson is the LG cordzoero but the performance is worst compared to the dyson. www.catch.com.au/product/electrolux-ergorapido-18v-stick-vacuum-cleaner-zb3515st-7824568/?offer_id=39411606&ref=gmc&gclid=Cj0KCQjwnJaKBhDgARIsAHmvz6eN_-RDVYzKnptEFTZgMenZpSXVQ0T3MyoaCXESuvkt-F6Zcq7TGTIaAu-lEALw_wcB
