Open Mustang Hood from Outside Car w/o Access to Inside Car/Battery

So freaking happy I found this video! My new battery died from lack of usage and I couldn’t get in as I only have a FOB to do so as keys broke in trunk and drivers door long before I bought it. Wish I had the locks changed so I wouldn’t have to deal with this issue. But now I’m freaking happy happy!!!! THANK YOU!

I think I had to watch at least 3, but I’m a chick so that could be why LOL… my car doesn’t have the option in the door handle to put the key to bypass the dead. FOB. Mine is only a 2006 Base Coupe V6, 4.0L. Hope ur able to fix ur issue.

Glad that i found this video. My 2015 Mustang got locked with the key fob in and battery dead as well. This was very helpful to pop of the hood and put a battery power to open the door and get the key out. Thank you very much for sharing this video 👍

The keyhole is not jammed, that is just the cover of the real keyhole, you just take that cover off and open the car with the key. I have had this problem with my car but i did not have a metal key (bought the car without one), in the winter i had to let the hood open in case the battery dies (and it died 3 times) cuz i have an "electric fence" thing on my engine bay to keep away the polecats. Didn't know the hood trick until now, thanks!

The slot on the outside is not the keyhole and is not jammed like you said. You need to slide off the small cover on the handle by pulling it towards the back of the car. Once that piece is off, you will see the real keyhole.

I left xm radio pluded in killed battery can't unlock with key locks messed up tried going through trunk but it's 8degrees outside .so going to pop hood latch but battery charger on and hopefully use remote to unlock Thanks for the video..

I have a carbon fiber hood and I can’t seem to get the hood to open using the latch to raise the hood. It’s unlocked , but latch does not move.

Great video. I can crack the hood open and reach the yellow latch under the hood with my fingers. The yellow latch moves freely but won't move far enough to allow the latch to move far enough so I can open the hood. Any suggestions? Just feels like the yellow latch needs to go just a but further. Was working fine when I parked it for the winter, no idea what the issue is.

Having the exact same issue as you. No idea what happened, but this past week was super cold and lot of snowfall where I'm at, maybe the cold has something to do with it? But then everyone in cold climates would have this issue too...taking it to Ford when I get a chance

@@yeehaw447 same here was really cold.. Alberta cold! I got it open. Just pulled on the latch harder after the point it felt like it should open. I was being too dainty on my baby lol.

They didn’t jamb the keyhole, the back end of the door handle comes off first. You press key in to release and pull it off, then you use the key like normal.

i somehow lost the key that was inside the fob... and I think my car battery died or the fob disconnected from my car... I changed the fobs batteries and it isn't unlocking so im going to give this a go... btw... I parked on the street so I hope no one thinks im trying to steal my own car lol... ill be super happy if this works because I really dont want to pay $85 for a tow truck to come pop it open for me...

This would have been a godsend if I didn’t have a 50 year edition with a honeycombs like grill in front. Can’t even see the latch inside let alone put a stick through it. This is a ridiculous design flaw. My key whole is broke, because no matter how I turn the key it won’t unlock and the battery is dead. I’m livid

@@waffles2837 I had to call a car locksmith. It’s was pretty quick for him to pop the trunk and then I had to replace the battery. I’ll have to take it to the dealership perhaps to get the key whole looked at. Still a ridiculous flaw in the design. Haha, lesson learned; DONT let the battery die! XD
