Great video. Thank you very much. I got the EPOS Impact 1060T ANC and the Jabra Evolve2 55. I had to return the Jabra Evolve2 55 because it only blocks out the noise when no one is speaking into the microphone, the EPOS Impact 1060T blocks out noise even when playing loud music on my phone and speaking into the microphone. The major issue I have with the EPOS Impact 1060T is firstly, it is a pain to connect initially to the Bluetooth on multiple PCs, secondly, it cuts out regularly when playing videos and even during calls sometimes across several devices, so this isn't an issue with just one PC. Do you have any recommendation on any other brand that cuts on the noise when someone speaks into the microphone but does not cut out as much when connected to the Bluetooth.

Hello EL-Chisom! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. These UC Bluetooth headsets are designed to connect to a PC via the included USB dongle (FYI - Computer manufacturers are finally getting on board and are developing laptops with chipsets with the appropriate Bluetooth profiles negating the need for a dongle). Until then, a dongle is needed. I'm curious about your use case. Why do you need to pair a single headset to multiple computers? Also, what is happening when it cuts out? Are you paired simultaneously to multiple laptops? What applications/programs are being run? Is one laptop using the included dongle? Are all paired directly via Bluetooth? As I mentioned earlier, while you can pair directly to a Bluetooth enabled computer, it may not support required Bluetooth Profiles (There are several). Here's a breakdown of the primary Bluetooth profiles involved in supporting input and output audio with a Bluetooth headset on a laptop: Output Audio (Laptop to Headset) A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile): This is arguably the most important profile for wireless audio. A2DP defines how high-quality stereo audio can be streamed from your laptop to the Bluetooth headset. Input Audio (Headset to Laptop) HFP (Hands-Free Profile): Designed for phone calls, HFP lets your Bluetooth headset's microphone send audio back to the laptop. It often comes with a lower audio quality than A2DP for output, due to the limitations of handling audio both ways simultaneously. HSP (Headset Profile): A slightly older alternative to HFP, serving a similar purpose. If your headset is a bit older, it might use this profile instead. Additional Considerations AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile): While not directly handling audio transmission, AVRCP is often coupled with A2DP to give you control over playback functions. This lets you adjust volume, skip tracks, etc., from your headset. Codecs: The audio codec (like SBC, aptX, AAC) used by the headset and laptop will influence the audio quality of the stream. Your headset and laptop need to support a compatible codec for the best sound. Checking for Profile Support Here's how to see which profiles your headset and laptop support: Laptop: The Bluetooth settings in your operating system (Windows, macOS, Linux) should list the profiles your laptop supports. Headset: The specifications or manual for your Bluetooth headset will list its supported Bluetooth profiles. Does this help? Appreciate you supporting our channel!

@@CallOneInc Massive thanks for such a detailed and comprehensive response. Yes the headset was initially connected without the dongle to 2 PCs and a phone, but after your comment, I used the dongle on one PC and Bluetooth for the other, they are connected simultaneously. With the dongle connection it is a lot more stable than it was initially. The reason I need to connect to two PCs is to switch between my personal PC and work PC whilst working from without the need for a second headset, which is what I was doing before. It was just easier to leave both connected simultaneously instead of having to connect anytime I needed to use it. Whilst the cutouts have significantly reduced, the EPOS Impact seems quite "temperamental", I have noticed now that even with the dongle, if I leave my personal PC for a while, and then come back to it, the audio just doesn't output from the headset even though connected unless one of two things happen, I "press and hold" the top of the dongle which I think resets it or something OR I go to the Sound section on Control Panel and switch between "Playback and "Recording" on Windows and somehow that fixes it...never had a headset that does that before though. Apart from that, it seems to be a really good headset, and does the noise cancelling from a really close range on the microphone which is what I really wanted. I do have a question though, is there a second or third headset brand you can recommend that performs mic noise cancelling even when I am speaking into the microphone, which is why I returned the Evolve2 55 and probably the only reason I kept the EPOS IMPACT 1060T. Looking forward to your feedback.

@@el-chisom1130 appreciate this level of detail. I regularly share feedback to all the major headset brands on the various use cases. To date, I have not tested a headset mic that performs as well as EPOS Impact 1000 Series except for their newer corded USB Impact 700 and 800 Series. Like you mentioned, others typically block noise when headset wearer stops talking but background noise will be heard in varying degrees depending on the headset mic. However, I have found when using Teams and Zoom, the noise suppression does a great job of blocking background noise including voices

Thanks very much for this review. I use a headset when I travel for Zoom/Teams/other calls and to listen to music, movies and audiobooks and at home for some calls and maybe music/audiobooks as well. I'd like a superior mic and ease of connecting. I have two Macs (one home and one for travel), an iPhone and an iPad. I purchased and returned an Orosound Tilde -- the mic was terrific, the speakers pretty good, but it had trouble switching from Teams to Zoom and often had trouble with Zoom. I'm now thinking of the Jabra Evolve2 55 (seems to have better mic performance than the 65 flex, who form factor I really like). Would the Epos 1000 with noise cancellation or the Epos 860 perform better? (I've read that the Epos app for the Mac performs poorly but don't know if that has been fixed.). I'm less concerned about price and more about functionality. Will it always work and work well when I need to join a Zoom or Teams call? Would it be good if I were creating audio or video material?

Love the detailed use case information. As you know, Teams and Zoom are rivals. This is a great experiment I have to set up on my Mac to see the performance of the Jabra Evolve2 55 and Jabra Direct software and interchanging between Teams and Zoom. I will do the same with EPOS Impact 1061T ANC and EPOS Connect on a Mac. I'm stretched a bit thin at the moment but I'm adding this to my list of scenarios to create. Thank you so much for supporting our channel and this real-world use case! Stay tuned!

Thanks for sharing! I’ll take a look however I typically try and use only what most enterprise clients are allowed to do and not many IT Departments allow employees to download unauthorized software or apps. This video really helps, as I’m in canada and was just shown that there’s technology that cancels out background noise while talking. Originally someone recommended Sony WH-1000XM5 is the only choice to go with. But I wanted to do my research. Looks like I’ll be shopping around for the Epos Impact 1061T in Canada from your videos. Is there any other product you’d recommend me looking at? For context… I’m a travelling territory sales manager. I'm using an M1 Mac for teaching..I absolutely cannot have any background noise. The sound, I thought, for the Logitech Zone Wireless 2 was pretty good. I didn't hear any background noise, unlike several others that you presented on this video. I also liked The Poly Voyager Free 60 with its cool case (and very surprised about the good clear sound for earbuds), the Focus 2 definitely would need the ANC on (of course the last two are a bit more pricey), but my question about all three is the comfort that you didn't mention. The Logitech Zone Wireless 2 is a great performing headset. However, it's heavier than the headsets I listed in this response. What platform are you using to teach? Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, Webex, other? These platforms have added additional Noise Suppression options you can select. Today people can join online meetings from anywhere, from the car, from the subway train, from the bathroom, and from the pub. Most challenging are the subway and pubs. If the meeting is after work hours people don’t expect you to be sober and sitting at the work desk. So you listen to what people say and occasionally (you never know when) you have to say something... If the pub visit conflicts with a meeting, I take Poly Focus UC2 with me, it helps. But I hate using monitoring, so I am really interested how bone conduction headset behaves in a pub.

@@Xentrax79 thanks for sharing this use case. And YES, you are correct. Today people truly can work from anywhere. Making a video in a pub should be fun. I can share that I would NOT recommend bone conduction headsets in a noisy pub UNLESS you have earplugs in. Because your ears are open, you hear EVERYTHING and based on my tests in multiple environments including busy city streets. While the Shokz Opencomm2 UC microphone performs well, what you hear is challenging if not impossible in really noisy environments.

@CallOneInc
@CallOneInc 15 күн бұрын
Hi Luz, that's a loaded question. I need more information. What is the call source? i.e. Desk phone, mobile phone, softphone (computer), other? And then there are the legal matters to consider. Federal law in the United States generally allows recording phone calls if at least one party involved in the conversation consents. However, some states have stricter rules, such as requiring consent from all parties. For example, Florida is one of 13 states that requires consent from all parties to record or transcribe a call. If you're not a participant in the conversation, recording it is considered illegal eavesdropping or wiretapping. An illegal recording can result in a sentence of up to five years in prison. To obtain consent, you can try these methods: Verbal or written consent: Ask for consent before recording, either verbally or in writing. Verbal notification: Give verbal notification before recording. This is the most common method. Audible beep: Play a beep tone at regular intervals during the call. If you're recording calls with people in multiple states, it's best to get consent from everyone involved. You should also consult an attorney for guidance on the laws in each state.

I work in an open medical office and primarily use my headset for listening to music and chart dictation, maybe 30% of the time with teams. I'm probably one of the few who are more focused on ANC or noise cancelling to cut down on noise that I hear more so than the ANC mic. I'm basically looking for great noise cancelling headphones that have a boom mic. Doesn't have to be wireless. Would any of these make the office less noisy and allow me to concentrate better?

In the testing office there are only like 3 people, you should try an office with more noise like the Wolf of Wall Street 😂

😂 I should have shown footage of the whole office. There were at least 8-10 people all around me. You should check out the mic tests videos from a coffee shop. Those places have several people all around plus music and coffee bean grinders, etc. kzbin.info/aero/PLOmK3KI8aDaUmxxkeqe_JfBQWIoVPa4YT

Any recommendations for a desk microphone that can be hidden from webcams, but only pick up my voice not the room echo? my over the head Plantronics C5220T's microphone is awesome but I get headaches when wearing headsets.

Hi Blake, can you share a little more information about your environment? There are multiple USB microphones and USB/Bluetooth Speakerphones that can be used. How well they suppress background noise may be challenging as they are designed to pick up sound.

@@CallOneInc I have multi monitor setup in a very bright, sunroom with lots of indirect sunlight. Tall wooden ceilings make it a bit echo-y. The doors keep out noises from other rooms. Basically I'm trying to find something others won't see during zoom but only picks up my voice in front of it. I have Bluetooth and USB ports I can use.

Have you considered a speakerphone? Newer options include: Jabra Speak2 75, Speak2 55 and Speak2 40 kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmqtdWtsfqp7Z5o or the Poly Sync 10 or 20. I have done several independent tests however, I haven't created videos on them yet but I will. Here's a playlist: kzbin.info/aero/PLOmK3KI8aDaWrh62hXhTLftOYuu7jtPaK

@@CallOneInc I hadn't considered a speakerphone. Thanks for the idea. I read up on the jabra speak and I think it would actually pick up too much keyboard sounds which is a problem. I'd prefer to be able to type without constantly having to mute and unmute as I work in IT administration and need to multi-task during calls. Don't want others hearing that but still being able to talk to them. From what I read the mic on the Jabra speak devices picks up keyboard sounds. I did however then go down the rabbit hole and came across the Anker PowerConf speakerphone which is zoom certified (which we use all day) and has pretty good background noise cancelling capability, even outside in the wind. That would be awesome for the warm weather months. I might give that one a try

@@CallOneInc it's surprising that all these years later the Jabra 510 and 710 still get better reviews than many new ones on amazon. surprised there's nothing newer that's not getting 4.7 or higher on amazon in the sub $150 range.

Hi Carrie, in this video, I'm sharing the performance of the headset microphones in an open office. You are hearing what people on the other end would hearing if you were using these headsets. What's your current setup? What voice, video, or UC platform/s are you using where people on the other end are hearing your co-workers, and what headset or audio device are you using?

What noice cancelling software are you using for this video
@CallOneInc
@CallOneInc 6 ай бұрын
I’m not using any noise canceling software. The purpose of this video is to demonstrate the noise canceling microphone performance of each headset. Except for the AirPods. I couldn’t get them to work with the Windows 11 Camera App so I recorded audio/video via Zoom that has Noise Suppression AI built in but even with that, they didn’t perform well in my opinion.

Nice. I am interested in epos impact 1060 anc. Why this version? Because I do not want to be Microsoft Teams certified. I am using 90% of the time only Slack and 10 % Microsoft Teams or this should not be such a dramatic for my choice? Do you have a test in an apartament and in the background or really near there is a child that is talking or crying?

Hi Alexandru! Great use case scenario! Here's a video that contains multiple background noises included a baby crying. However, please note that I will be filming a headset mic test video from an actual day care with real babies/children in the background. For now, this gives you a pretty good idea of how the EPOS Impact 1000 mics perform. Check out the video. There are time stamps if you want to skip. kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5KzpnhrrqmLr7c

@@Aleex7315 ANC reduces the background noise that YOU hear -- not the noise that is entering the microphone and being sent to person you are speaking with. So if you do not want to hear your children, then ANC will help. However, the microphone that you speak into is the same on all versions of the EPOS 1000. Hope that helps.

Hi Dunc, our channel focuses on professional-grade audio and video solutions for large enterprise customers that have compatibility requirements for various voice, video and UC platforms and applications like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex, Avaya, etc. I'm curious if you use a headset, what is your use case? And what would you consider a low cost? I have a direct line to the manufacturers and can share this information with them.
