Old mate ok the WR was setup to ride on some major adventure wuth his 44 gallon fuel tank. But seemed to lack the adventurous spirit when he sprung a leak. As you said mate, may as just keep riding. See how far you can get.

This looks like a fantastic event. Although seems like that bike should be resprung with how all over the it’s. Forks are moving way too much. I had that problem with my Africa Twin. All my terrain is rocks. The soft progressively wound springs were replaced with heavier straight rate springs. Made a world of difference

Just bought myself a second hand stock Versys 300 and would love to have a crack at this hopefully next year if all goes to plan. I've only learnt about Open Roads Rally, thanks for the content Nerb1. Nice riding mate, keep it up!

Oh great timing on releasing a new video!!! Also Nerb, did you ever do a video on installing the TC/abs switch for your t700?

If I have time, I use the normal button. When i dont want to stop, I flick the switch. The only problem with the switch is that if I leave it off and cycle the ignition, I get the engine light on the dash and have to clear it with the obd tool. I did show it in a video somewhere. If I find it i'll let you know.

Good to see something new, glad you found some time and so quickly after the event. I had some mates in Melbourne do it and said it was great, even some riders down from NSW. I wish we had something similar over this side of the Country.

Where can I get a pair of those mirrors you are using? Also, I went to ORR Broadford for the first time and loved it. I will definitely be going back if it runs again next year.

Ive been happy with mine. Its not exactly motorcross worthy, but it does the job. Still not as good as the 790 fork.

Great ride! T7 is a beast. "Open Roads" they should call it the "Human Obstacle Course" lol. GoPro is overhyped & overpriced. Thanks for taking us along, video helps during winter blues! Snow is almost gone and temperatures are starting to look promising. Low of -5 and highs of around 5 degrees ish. Ride safe & *T4S*

Whap app do you use for displaying this roadbook ? Seems like a very nice organized event, you're all blessed over there that these kind of adventure trips are still legal, over here in Belgium it's illegal even with a MTB to explore the forest. Crazy world.

I use rally roadbook reader which is really good, piste roadbook isn't too bad and there's a few other good ones.

Great event. Reason people didn’t turn up. Guessing cost. With the cost of living gone up dramatically in the last 2 years. Especially in the last year. Cost of set up. Especially if this would be their first group event, accommodation in the area. Do they have the spare coin if the injury themselves & have to take time off work or repair the bike? Could be location ect. Lot of variables to why people didn’t turn up.

I don’t get why people want to smash their adventure bikes on tracks better suited to dirt bikes. Each to their own I guess, but why take a knife to a gun fight? Adv bikes are designed to get you there and back in comfort, and get you through the really gnarly bits when you don’t have a choice. If you’re driving to the event then take a dirt bike. Looks like some nice country though.

Because dirt bikes are for kids. When you grow up, you get an adventure bike. Also, nothing got broken on my bike.

So what brand camera is the one locking up? I assume it's a GoPro.

Its the insta360 One RS. I have a V30 card, but I think its still too slow. I'll try a faster card. Also need to move the mic.... its all blown out. I have a lot more experimenting to do with this camera, but I think I will be back to 2k instead of 4k to stop it freezing.

I haven't had my GoPro stall once since I upgraded the memory card, have recorded for nearly 2 hours straight with no stall. Used to stall all the time with the old memory card, so if whatever you have is stalling I'd suggest trying a new memory card first.

@@MitchMotoMaths Yes some cameras are very sensitive to the card installed. Even worse is trying to tell if you have a genuine card or a counterfeit one, they seem to be everywhere now.

It does cost $, but I think thats every event. Unfortunately insurance kills most activities in this country. We can blame those that like to sue.

@@Nerb1 I was basically taken back by the fact that the fee didn't even get you meal.. I have run many enduro rallies in my time and even the high country ride by AMTRA. Which by the way is probably one of the best events of the year for the money.. Some $300.. I understand that it does cost but for my standard there are better events.. sorry for that rant
