Just to clarify for anyone looking for the document number on your work permit (this confused me too) -- Its on the top right hand side, without a label. It is NOT the number following the Application/Demande label. And like he mentioned, both of these start with a letter followed by 9 numbers, so its tricky to know which is the right one. Just thought I'd leave this here :)

Thank you very much Mr. Suyesh for this very informative video. One week before you released this video, I had just received my AOR that was sent thru my wife last January 26, 2024. We don't know what it is nor what it does to my spousal sponsorship PR application. I had a hard time researching that it is what AOR looks like for spousal sponsorship because my wife went to a different PR track (TR to PR for health workers). So when I have identified it because of your video, I immediately used it to apply for work permit extension, even though my OWP expires this May (I had 1 year PGWP). Let me tell you that your videos had my been my guide, my EXCLUSIVE knowledge-base to navigate the IRCC's convulated, unstructured, tedious, and very confusing system. Even the "guides" web pages are hardly useful! I think IRCC should either hire you to create explanation videos for them or outright buy the rights to your videos and put them in the IRCC website in order to facilitate understanding of their process.

I wanted to bring this to your attention, on May 23, 2024, the Instructions Page for OWP has been updated with this specific bullet point that specifies that AOR received by the Spouse cannot be used be the Principal Applicant to apply for OWP. "The AOR must be for your permanent resident application. You can’t use the AOR your sponsor received when they applied to sponsor you. " Wondering if you have any update or details on how to proceed further for OWP given this update. Thanks

I feel info is contradictory, same instruction says different: The AOR must be for your permanent resident application. It’s the AOR your sponsor receives from IRCC. & then ... in the upload part it says: upload the AOR that you received that proves the permanent residence application you submitted is complete.

Quick question please, in the section " details of intended work in canada" you said to copy SCLPC - FC OWP” in the Job title box. but it says dashes like - are not allowed on the form. also when I look at how to complete form IMM5710, in the same section it says to just leave question 2 to 8 empty which is that Job title box part. If an applicant has submitted an OUTLAND permanent residency application through the spousal sponsorship program and is currently in Canada on a visitor visa, and they have also applied for a spousal open work permit while in Canada and are awaiting a decision, can the applicant stay in Canada under maintained status until a decision is made on the work permit application even if their visitor visa expires before that. I’m asking because I’ve seen some websites mentioning that maintained status applies to inland sponsorship applications, and I’m unsure if this applies to OUTLAND spousal sponsorship applications as well. Hi Suyash, firstly I would like to thank you for your support through PR application videos on youtube which helped me a lot to file for my wife as an Outland Spousal Sponsorship application under Family Class. Now, my wife already got her AOR and she did her medical and biometrics as well. Her eligibility criteria and security background check is also updated to COMPLETED and after that there is no update since 4 months now and we are waiting for her COPR since 4 months. Now if she wants to come to Canada on TRV, there are high chances that her application would be accepted. But what if she comes to Canada and meanwhile she gets her COPR. Then, how does that work because this is an outland application and her file is being processed from New Delhi office. Will she has to send passport for stamp or she will directly get her PR card? Its not an issue. If she is in canada already and gets her ppr, she can inform ircc about her presence in canada and they’ll switch her process to virtual landing. All instructions will be in the ppr letter she will receive once she gets approved.

However this was for a the temporary resident to pr pilot that is no longer valid, but it does say you can still apply for work permit. any information helps!

I told him the questionnaire is flawed and he said he would send me an email with information that would let me bypass the questionnaire. After I hung up I received an email with a link to the guide to apply for a work permit, but it doesn't bypass the questionnaire at all, I just don't think he understood what I meant... I guess I will make the application and either put visitor or worker in the status question, I know I am not eligible for a postgraduate permit at all so if I put student there is no way I can make an application for owp... Please let me know what you do and if you have more info!

hi suyash sir , thank you for your informative information . i have my timeframe on my pr Class visa medical passed may 2023, pre arrival arrived august 2023 . Till now haven’t get any updates. How long does it take to get ppr request ?
