Storyline:
Bruno was once in a relationship with a women named Maria. For whatever the reason, his mother Alma doesn’t approve of the relationship and tries to break them up. Before anything can really be done, it’s discovered that Maria is pregnant. Alma orders Maria to give up her child after they’re born and never approach Bruno again. Maria and Bruno, afraid of Alma’s influence over the community, reluctantly agree but secretly make a plan to leave the Encanto after their baby is born.
Unfortunately, Maria dies during childbirth. The baby, named Mirabel, is given to Julieta and Agustín to raise as their own.
Fifteen years later, giftless Mirabel is trying find a way to save Casita and the Miracle. At Luisa’s suggestion, she goes to Bruno’s tower for an answer. Mirabel finds the letters Bruno and Maria exchanged between themselves and a picture of the two of them together. Piecing things together, Mirabel realizes she is actually Bruno and Maria’s daughter.
Mirabel confronts Alma and the rest of the family about their treatment of her and her birth parents. Alma, believing she made the right decision, doesn't react until Mirabel asks how Pedro would think of what she did.
It turns out that Mirabel did get a gift on her 5th birthday. Her gift is that her emotions are connected to Casita and never truly learning control, causes Casita to start breaking apart.. Mirabel, angry at her family but not wanting them to die, sends them outside to safety as their home crumbles around her.
**Whether or not she survives is up to you**
In this AU, Mirabel doesn't find Bruno's prophecy about her. Because of that, it's not taken by Bruno’s rats and she didn’t follow them into casita’s walls, so she never met Bruno before the house collapsed.
