Lex was explaining about GPT 4 last year (or 2022 I forgot the exact date) on a video, where he was guessing how many parameter difference could gpt 4 have compared to gpt 3. He said what if it has 100 trillion parameters as a guess example with a diagram. But people took it out of context by claiming that it is the actual GPT 4 size by using Lex’s hypothetical diagram (similar to the thumbnail). Most people were misleading others on social media by using Lex’s diagram with no context and it became a meme after GPT4 got released with much less parameters. Hence why; this thumbnail is a play on that meme and is not serious. People who don’t know this context might think it is a misleading thumbnail but those who have been following Lex’s podcasts and channel for a while know about this much better.

I think regarding the fortan programming thing and punch cards All current programing languages are level 3 turing complete that is fundamentally different than just level 4 programming languages or level 5, let alone to be entirely in natural language (whatever the H that is defined to be, bcz there are differences between giving high level description of a an algorithm vs inventing the algorithm (from the task definition, that is just level 5, and requires tons of planning core (of ehich LLMs have known, and actually fails at basic reasoning) I don't think programming will change that much, but just the Human Machine interaction

LOL, last week I asked chat GPT to write some basic pyspark code to generate SQL statement from metadata that maps source table+column to target table+column and it failed miserably. There's literally hundreds of examples of this on github and GPT was trained on github data. I would say for many areas, GPT failed to generalize well and just fails.
