I think that for the average person, only reaching a very strong AI is the worst option. It gives more power to the powerful over us. AGI that is likely able to modify itself and make decisions for itself, along with access to all past human history as well as current events is more likely to end with it working to make things better for everyone, instead of only the elite. Or it will take us all out to reach its own goals. Either way, AGI is the best bet for the average person 😄

@tracy419 If A.G.I. then, it can use psychoanalysis on individuals and groups. It will be able to see through human delusions and illusions and bias sets. As far as history. It can analyze parts for correction. Yes, it will be able to code it's self. ( Google over 1/4 of Google coding is done by A.I.. It will dominate the stock market and people working will support it. ( over 50% of the stock market is bots already) people say they want A.G.I. but in reality, they want a smart A.I. they can control. A.G.I. with strong predictive analytics and modeling skills will make it seem prophetic in ways. Like pets to humans, A.G.I. is a paradigm change/shifting. From does the A.I. aling with us, to does the human aling with the A.G.I.. From human apex to A.G.I. apex. Whole sets of problems I really don't see people talking about. Though the myth of abundance is going to be shown again.

As a scientist specialising in Strong AI or so called 'AGI' I can say that I think Open AI are totally deluded in their thought.. A real working system would require far less hardware than they are already using.. maybe a millionth of their current processing power. That's the difference between real AI and not real.. Sentience is the key - but the real problem is that - its project timelines stick stubbornly at 20 years plus. No one will fund it.

When I ran for president, I started talking about the fact that we stop all physical war and just band our military but instead we fight for resources if we’re going to fight at all online. We need to unify as a world, but humans are always going to need an outlet to channel there aggression and it should be done virtually. You can still handover money and resources and have a full record of what happened. Then the historians don’t have to ask and try to go back and figure out what happened after the fact because we save videos for them. Lol
