OpenGL 3D racing game

This video is a short presentation of our 3 month collage project.
What are we using for development:
-c++
-OpenGL
-Fmod for sounds
-Assimp for loading models
Game is not graphicaly suffisticated because we had to focus on other requirements.
Features we are implemented:
-simple car phyics based on newton laws
-Tracks are generated with evloutionary algorithm (generator is seperated from game)
-Tracks can be downloaded from web
-AI implemented with neural net
Given the shortage of time to develop the game have quite a few bugs. But we are still quite proud what we done.
This is only a school project and not fully grown game

Something only us programmers can appreciate... Gamers will only expect games like modern NFS. You had like 3 months... back in 2011 when the sources weren't that huge as they are today. And you still pulled that off ALONE IN THREE MONTHS. Man I bet my ass you're doing great in your life. I hope you do. Beautiful work right there.

good job, im actually in a demoreel in my private game programming school. i got 3 month to make a game in solo. im actually making a towerdefense. should be nice, so far i made a really great algorythm to load and draw my maps. i actually have some problems loading 3d models but i will look for Assimp.

If you are a good programmer in C++, so.. it's problem to make better camera moving in the intro and making a paths? that intro looks very bad, but engine looks good :)

Even for 2011 the graphics were considered "crappy" anyone who has used a lower level graphics API such as opengl knows how hard it is to make something like this

I will have about same time to creat a game with mine university project, the problem is i will also have to learn opengl, so i have about 3 months to learn ogl and create a game, by myself (no team work, solo)... since i know c++ and modelling stuff, only opengl is case here, i would be very grateful if you would share the place where you learned openGL:) because what you did there looks very good :)

Very nice, OpenGL is a fucking pain to work with... You can use XNA just as well with C#.. which is far more comfortable!

OpenGL is a API for rendering vector graphics. XNA is runtime environnement

but XNA or now MonoGame is not as fun as OpenGL, and if you want OpenGL on C# use OpenTK :)
