As a locksmith and locksporter, I have one of these locks I bought directly from Gerda here in the US. I saw one on Bosnian Bill's Lock Lab KZbin video in the "naughty bucked" in his consortium with the LockPickingLawyer, and though I'd like to have one. Interesting tool and method of decoding, and then picking with the paper impressioning. Very interesting method. I would argue with the 4.3 million possible keys, as with 4 depths of cut on 16 pins = 16 to the power of 4 = 65,536. If you have to pick 8 times (2 full rotations) 65,536 x 8 = 524,288, a bit shy of 4.3 million. Thanks for sharing -- I'll have to check out the tool for no other purpose than locksport. Of course, another problem is a key cutting machine for these.

It is not 16 to the power of 4 but 4 to the power of 16 = 4 294 967 296.

We come across these a lot at work (Fire & Rescue) on gerda box fitted outside buildings which have emergency evacuation plans and master keys in side. We carry the master keys on our fire appliances but I believe there are several different master keys

Yes there will be many many different master keys. Some council specific or borough specific etc. Due to the possibilities.

There are only 2 in London. The H,D, and E master and the newer TH master for tower hamlets. Those 2 keys will get you in everywhere. We have a machine to cut them if you ever need one (y)
