When my mom was alive, and worked, she was a brooch woman. She had so many. I remember every morning my mom getting ready and pinning on a brooch. I have one of her christmas brooches. Maybe ill wear it this next christmas.

My parents were both part of the silent generation, and lived through the Great Depression. My mom hid stuff EVERYWHERE. We even had to check the air vents when we sold their house. (Sold the house in 2020, and found food items hidden away that expired in the late 70’s!) Be sure to feel the linings of those old jewelry boxes. Mom had hid rings in one, sewed it up, and forgot with time and dementia.

It’s his little-boy-on-a-treasure-hunt excitement🤣…which, after all, is what makes their channel so great. I actually love the dynamics between Alex and Melissa. It makes my heart happy, seeing a couple who works, plays, parents, *and* plans as a team. (The only exceptions over the years have maybe 3 or 4 times when Alex surprisingly got a bit grumpy-eyed or curt w/Melissa - probably just exhaustion on his part, and possibly no one but another woman might’ve even noticed, but hey, no one’s perfect. Even Alex). Anyway, I love it when he and Melissa “inventory” together.

Alex came up covered in gold again! 03:08 The stones in the earrings are possibly topaz or sapphire. Both are used as better diamond substitutes. I'm betting a lot of the diamond rings are post-WWII engagement rings. The poppy pins have me wanting them - here in the lower 48 we don't get any..darnitt! 11:42 When a bracelet has a safety chain, check for marks. I have no idea what he paid, but odds are those tangled chains will scrap out enough to cover both boxes and then some.

Great video guys! My mom recently passed away and we are going through her treasures, also some of her mom’s and aunts’s jewellery. Some Sherman crystals. Some other gorgeous Italian Gold. The pink stones in that bracelet could be alexandrite. She had a lot of pearl as well so alexandrite and pearl are june birthstones. This person could ve had a june birth date.
