I still have vivid memories of my visit to the NY World's Fair. My family went there both years (I was only 6 and 7 years old). I remember the optimistic theme of the Fair, along with a few of my favorite pavilions, such as Bell Telephone, the Tower of Light, the Unisphere, General Motors, General Electric, Pepsi-Cola, and more. We always had lunch at the Schaefer pavilion and our catnaps at the Simmons beautyrest building. What times we had there!

I remember Bell Telephone had something called the "Picturephone", where you could see who you were talking to, and vice versa. Little did I know that it would take about 40 somewhat years to become a reality.

Went both years luckily as a teen. Had a blast the best were the G.M. & Ford exhibits. Remember some but not a lot.

They forgot to put a record player in the time capsule with the Beatles record.....record players will be gone in 5000 years without a trace.

They should have kept the structures! Not leave the remaining ones a rotting mess.

The only rotting mess is the NY Pavilion...the tent of tomorrow. I guess they got that right.

Flawed idea to theme the fair, "Peace through understanding." Often the more we understand each other the more we disagree and fight.
