Alot of Churches do Lamington Drives & sell thousands of lamingtons by the dozen. Easy to make & some people add cream / jam to them. CWA (Country Women's Association) is charity that raise my money for their charity & run tea rooms & cake stalls. They catered my Aunt's wake with some delicious mini pies, mini quiches, cakes & the like. All money goes into helping others. Through those bushfires they gave care packages of toiletries & basic food items to famalies.

@@midnightkitchen8379 If you like it, Bancroft has more than 40 other children's books. I especially recommend Patterns of Australia and Colours of Australia to complete the set. And then there's the ABC of Australian Animals, and 123 of Australian Animals, and Why I Love Australia... I'm a primary school (grade school, in the US) librarian, so I'm just a little bit excited about Indigenous children's books. :D

@@mjb7015 That is awesome, thank you for bringing this book (and the other recommendations you just posted) to my attention - these suggestions I'll definitely take onboard myself. I grew up in South Africa (but been here in Aus for 11 years now), and while I consider myself an Aussie now, there's still plenty I am yet to learn. I have a 2-year old who loves books. This is so refreshing compared to the regular books you tend to find at Big W / Kmart etc. Thank you again! :)

All the racing Falcons built for the last forty years are four door cars. The other Shell DJR racing two door you have is the Australian racing version of the Mustang. Built to convert the racing Falcons to Mustang looking cars at minimum cost. This was since Ford here stopped making the Falcon but sold imported Mustangs. Controversial conversion that differed from a real Mustang for parity with the Holden Commodore as well as using the tube frame from the Falcon four door. No distortion in the road car Mustang you can buy from Australian Ford dealers at BMW type prices.

The Aussie slang book will likely have lots of words that are specific to certain regions. Sydney and Melbourne have very similar slang, Queensland has words that they use related to their being in the tropics - "going troppo" for example, is when it's so hot and humid for so long that you go nuts because no matter what you do, you can't get cool. During the summer in Queensland, there's weeks where you get no relief from the heat and humidity. It doesn't cool down at night, fans are only blowing hot air around, and the power goes out from everyone using their air-conditioning round the clock. Going troppo is when people crack from not being able to sleep, being unable to find any relief from the heat and lash out at anyone or anything.

Wonderful “Happy Mail” for your lovely family. A note for Jennifer & family from Wodonga. I couldn’t help feeling sad when we all saw what one of postal services did to the wonderful package filled with thoughtful gifts that showed how much you care for the lovely family that many Australians have adopted as one of our own. We noticed how well you wrapped glass gifts with care. The breakage was so not your fault, I’m surprised anything survived in your big box of thoughtful and really special gifts. I’d be delighted with everything and I live here lol😆 Especially the excellent books you chose they’re the very best. I’ve bought those very books myself, all are expensive beautifully bound, have stunning illustrations and a delight to read. My own little ones adored them, especially 🦙 Alpaca 🦙 These children will cherish every book you chose and buy them for their own little ones, These particular books ARE such a FAVOURITE , so well loved the many turned pages become softer with little one’s fingers touching, stroking ( staying just as strong) every single page over and over again. Even when the kids know the words by heart, they’re still the favourite to be read out loud by mum, dad and grandparents. These gifts are even more precious now they smell like raspberries and any pink cordial splatter page has a extra story about a storybook to tell Much more precious and fabulously unique are the books Jennifer and family sent to travelled far away from a country town called Wodonga near the boarder of Victoria and NSW. All the way across the sea by train and truck and airplane, another truck maybe another train too! Into the van that delivered the box of treats and books to a very special Post Office in America. Where the squishy box waited for its new family to come and carefully carry it to their car, driving all the way to their new home. Where the special books are read and loved by two beautiful little American children. In the box of treats at the very top there was was a wonderfully coloured painting made by little Australian fingers to make Emma smile and put her own hands on the colourful carefully hand prints. Yes, a bit of a rant But your gift is worth more, because of its story about being all bashed up, but instead of ruining the thoughts and care that went into the box, touch of Aussie magic was sparkly shining with spots of ✨ 💕PINK 💕✨ Well doneJennifer and family Melbourne, Australia

Lammingtons are used as fund raisers in Australia eg at school to raise money for school equipment. They would call them a Lammington drive and a order form would be sent home and Mum would order them and the money goes straight to the school.

With the chocolate buttons ( coins ) great or break up & add to a brewed coffee you make. Love the Family opening keep it up. Cheers Australia. Ps. If you receive a packet of Tim tams biscuits ( cookies ) as a treat in winter time, grab a Tim tam ( biscuit which are rectangular shaped bite off two corners diagonally, place one Conner in mouth the other in hot coffee or warm drink draw drink up through the timtam into mouth then place Tim tam in mouth & enjoy. Do this process quickly other wise you have a biscuit ( cookie ) melted in your favourite Beverage. Try & enjoy 😎☕️☕️🥛🍪🍪🍪

Just about anything from the Smiths range is good but chicken and salt and vinager are the top favourites. Also with lamingtons, if you haven't finished them off already try to cut them in half and add jam (jelly). That's normally how bakeries and home made lamingtons are done. If you like you can add a tiny bit of cream with the jam/jelly.
