The signs of Spring are here! We are almost there here in GA! My pear and apple trees started flowering this week so it won't be long now. Love this time of year! Except for the huge amounts of pollen that we are about to endure its got to be the best time of year. Thanks for being here Cathy.

Hi! I took one course in beekeeping from a local beekeeping club. My neighbor (who sold me the hives) also helped me through the first year with mentoring! I got about 40lb last year from one hive so hopefully I will get that x4. Maybe.

Where are you located? Using Boardman Feeder early spring, not sure about that. Good job losing only one hive. I lost 40% this past winter.

I am in central Georgia. Why the concerns about the feeder? Just curious? I haven’t had any problems with them as of yet. Thanks for being here and sharing your thoughts.

@@RowCoFarms I'm in NY and early spring too cold for outside feeding, If we have a real cool night and a sunny day, boardman feeders may loss the vacuum and leak. Like they say. "Beekeeping is local" Good Beekeeping

I understand now. That makes sense. We use an internal feeder during the winter months. But we have pretty warm temps here already so the bees are flying most days and are using the external feeders like crAzy! We are seeing temps most days of 60 and up. Haven’t had any robbing attempts so far either. And you’re so right that beekeeping is local and so varied all over. I like seeing how it’s done and why keepers make their decisions.
