I can never sit through this intro without smiling from ear to ear. I probably have more nostalgia from this than any other video game I’ve ever played. I remember getting the DS version first and then the Wii. I was already familiar with Mario, but this game was how I got introduced to the rest of the Sonic cast, which is now my all time favorite video game franchise. I’m 17 now, but matter how old I get, I’ll never get tired of this game.

1:40 - 1:58 I love how they introduce Donkey Kong, Silver, Bowser Jr. and Metal Sonic as they the newest additions in this game. I especially love the moments where DK is so cheeky after he catches the puck with his bare hands and the other where Metal boosts ahead of Luigi and Shadow while looking smug about it (he may not have a mouth and expressive eyes, but I think Metal was smug in that moment).

My favorite parts are the beginning of the intro with the fireworks, the Vancouver 2010 logo, and Mario, Sonic and the characters from their worlds. I also like the ending when we see the four ladies (Peach and Daisy from Super Mario, and Amy Rose and Blaze from the Sonic the Hedgehog). What a beautiful introduction!

Pure nostalgia. I never had a wii U, so pretty much only played this and wii sports till about 2015. Absolute gem. Pure fun. From findingmout you can get extra points in figure skating by randomly shaking the remote to having no idea what was happening in hockey, this game was beautiful. Goosebumps all over. One of my earliest memories is literally this game. My dad and brother were playing curling and my mum and I just came back. I would have been either three or four at the time. Thanks for posting this.

Man would that be amazing to play through the past olympic games with some tweaks and polish like why not did what Tokyo Olympics did and add in the option to use either motion controls or buttons/control stick. Really hope it's a possibility cause I miss the dream events which Rio and Tokyo have sadly failed on and the 8 bit events aren't good enough to sub since it doesn't cover all events and they cut the cast as well.
