That’s so cool, I think only about 700 people in the whole country got straight 9s!! Tbh all my teachers said that they were very rare too...we were never predicted 9s in any subject or given them in tests because they were seen as almost impossible to get! X

They are only the top 3% of each subject get a 9, diff ppl have different strengths plus u must go to a really good school.

Tbh grade boundaries for a 9 were nothing special. In bio a grade 9 was 66 average on each paper out of 100. Physics was very low aswell. Chem was average at 75

i’m only 11 so took my SATs a few months ago and i was really pleased with my scores and what made me cry was that my teacher said “when i saw your scores i started crying” and i was so proud of myself. i’m so excited to film my reaction to my GCSE exam results when i’m older! 😂 this is a random comment but whatever. also i love drama and dance :)

Nia.dancer you’ll be absolutely fine!! I assume you’re still quite young so I wouldn’t even worry about GCSEs until you’re in year 10, just enjoy school and friends for the meantime xx

I really love drama but my grades don't seem to reflect my passion for the subject. How did you achieve good grades in drama, also did you find drama a hard subject and if so how did you improve ?

Sorry to hear that :( xx and yes drama is very challenging! X I’ve still got a lot of improving to do myself, but at gcse one of the most important things is that you are very clear, so make sure that you project and don’t gabble. Once you’ve mastered that I suggest playing around with your piece, taking risks, and then you can keep what you like and eliminate what you don’t :) I hope this helps xxx

6:15 Yesssss I agree! I'm in year 11 at the moment and we did the 2018 summer papers for our science mocks. Physics paper 1 went really well (I got the highest in my year) but paper 2 went horribly compared to my other science papers and I think I'm getting my results next week or in a couple of weeks time. I wouldn’t worry at all!! As I said, I got a 5 in my geography mock and ended up getting 4 grades higher than that in the real thing, so you never know :) x as long as you put in the hard work, you’ll get some smashing results I’m sure of it xx

I’m about to go into year 11 , I did my real art gcse this year and I got an A* (8) . which I’m really happy about. However when I did my mocks for everything else I got 6’s in English I want to get a 7 possible 8 , 2 in maths , 3.5 in science which I don’t understand but I know they’re bad. I’m getting tutoring for science and maths though I just want to pass like with a 4 or 5. In history (7) and geography(6) .

In England and it's tests u take at 16 which allow you to get jobs

Yeh, I don’t know the American equivalent, but they’re just exams you take when you’re 16 x so that means for the final two years at high/secondary school I’ll narrow down my subject choices to only 3 subjects (instead of taking 10) and take more in depth exams in those...does that make sense? haha xx

No, actually. The content in the SAT and ACT is identical or similar to A-levels, which is after GCSE. It’s just not understandable because you only take the SAT, where as the GCSEs and A-levels are two qualifications used for university , mainly Maths and English GCSES are important, for that though.

That’s amazing, you literally got A* and A**. I’m only in year 8 and I’m already doing GCSE work in my Art. It’s like they are framing all the knowledge in you now then they go over it in year 10 and 11 so it’s getting very stressful now.

Philosophy and ethics A-level was absolute hell!! Hopefully your teachers are more qualified than mine were and aren't just religious studies teachers who have had to take on the impossible new syllabus :(((

Just thought I'd warn you haha. I did the old RS gcse which was basically just learning about Judaism so when I took it for A-level and it was all 'arguments for the existence of God', I felt so lost and had no interest in it whatsoever.

Orly Burton that sucks, sorry to hear that :( the way it works with my school is that I can drop any one of my 4 a levels after the 1st term if I don’t enjoy it, so it’s pretty good xx
