Jochebed Sule thank you! I started around March making notes, I made flash cards too with questions on one side. Then I started to do practice questions and re write/go over any things I didn’t know. For science Freesciencelessons literally saved me! I watched the videos and made notes. For humanities and English I would do practice questions/essays and read the mark schemes so you can see where you gain the marks. Go to all the revision sessions at school that you think will help you (but don’t waste time going to pointless ones). Give essays to your teachers to mark and look up exemplar answers to help you. Once it gets to around April don’t keep writing notes, you need to put your knowledge to the test. Hope this helps, if you need anymore tips I can think of some more x

I’m doing my GCSEs this year- I’m kinda like you with french in a few subjects, in the sense that if I’m not a natural at it or if I don’t wanna do it at A Level, I don’t give 100%. Ive hit that point now where I wanna do Maths, FM, (and I found out that doing two sciences is best for me because I’d like to do maths at Cambridge/Edinburgh)- but I’ve been daydreaming in science for 2 years and I’m already going into panic mode!! Best to realise now than in 5 months though, I guess! ps, I did English Lit a year early, predicted 9, I got a 6!! I cried for like 20 minutes but now it seems super trivial. Can’t wait for next year when I view the whole GCSE concept as an absolute joke 😂😬😬

My biggest advice to you is to actually start revising now because I didn’t in year 10 because I thought I had ages but you will be surprised at how fast it goes. Also if you want to do sixth form then take your year 10 mocks seriously because those are the grades you have to put on your application form ❤️

I got my results last year and missed history paper 2 (we only did two papers) and sadly only got a 2. However in maths I’d been getting 4/5s all year to come out with a 6 even with missing paper 3!! For science I missed bio 2 and came out with a 6/6 which I was dissapointed with as I was getting 8/9 all year but I was very very ill in hospital so didn’t get chance to revise a lot and pushed myself to even sit a lot of my exams. But I got into college and that’s all that matters to me:)

Do GCSE mocks impact your grade if you take the actual exam?

No - my mocks were set and marked internally by my school whereas my actual GCSEs were externally set and marked :) They don't have any influence/impact if you sit your GCSE.

Idk whether you did iGCSE, or something but, you needed 167 for an 8 in maths, 3 papers worth 80 each, even if you got 100% on the two you went to, you couldn’t have gotten an 8?

Gals sat here in ma bed rn thinking omg my grades could be doomed cause my gcses were cancelled I really wanna pass maths and science especially cause my course is very biology heavy. Resandu Kiralawella i May be wrong but if you miss an exam because of illness, they make special consideration, I think they look at what you did on paper 1, and make a mark for you on what you would of got on the paper 2. Don’t quote me on that though 😂

I used to be on an AQA English exam board at a different school and I would say iGCSE is the same difficulty if not more difficult as coursework you can't rely on grade boundaries being low - it's direct to a specific mark scheme.
