Next to Normal has the most emotionally energetic score I have heard in a musical tied with Rent. I saw the national tour eight years ago with Alice Ripley when it made it's first stop in Los Angeles!

Wow, how the time has flown by. Was there for opening night as a minor investor. Have never been as moved by any other production as I had by this one. Thought they had stolen a few pages from my history from the story, wanted to jump up on stage and give the Anesthetic for the ECT, as I've done hundreds of times before, not to mention the bipolar wife.
