Opening of the Soo Locks, for the 2022 shipping season.

Locks open on March 25, 2022, at 12:01 AM to start the season. The Edgar B Speer had the honors of being the first ship through with the Edwin H Gott being the second one through. The season begins with tough going in Lake Superior Ice.
I am dedicating this video to some good friends Todd & Becky Haltaufderheid. Becky has lost her life to cancer this year.
