+MasterSnake820 Most JRPGs, including ones ATLUS make, will put the old versions opening in some way with each version, either as an alternate opening if you wait long enough on the menu screen or in a video library in the extras section. I just wish they ONLY used this version. FES's opening is shit by comparison.

JinTekyta I feel it fails to capture the games atmosphere or themes. Its just a flashy opening and nothing else. Didn't help it based the theme that played during it off the worst tracks in the game.

Rainbow Dashtruction This opening doesn't communicate too much outside of the theme of death, which was communicated in the other. There's not a lot of information to digest, and while it's cool looking, it gives you little impression of what you're about to play. FES's opening on the other-hand, is about as flashy but most importantly shows gameplay. It's not strictly and anime opening, but a game trailer and that's something I'd rather have, for a video game. You might feel the theme used was based off one of the worst tracks in the game, but tracks like Mass Destruction and the like are the reason I prefer P3's soundtrack over something like P4.

JinTekyta I fucking hate openings that have gameplay in them. I'd prefer they either make something new or don't do anything at all, then just grab the games trailer and dump it on the front of the game. Mass Destruction is awful because its just a random rap song thrown into the middle of the game. None of the other songs in the game are like it, and so it takes you out of the game every fucking time it plays. Doesn't help its also a pretty shit rap song, not there is many good ones.

There's something in Persona 3 that appeals to me in a different way than Persona 4 or Persona 5. P4 is still my favorite, but P3 has some sort of... i dunno, Evangelion-esque feel which many anime don't have today. When subtlety was so subtle, that stories are incomprehensible when you see them for the first time, which creates a fantastic sense of mystery. The less comprehensible story is, the more mysterious it is, like a riddle or a tomb filled with puzzles.

I can’t be the only one who noticed this, but the part at 1:26 seems to be at least somewhat reflectant of the original tale of Orpheus in mythology, where he rescued his wife Eurydice from the underworld, and was permitted to leave on the condition that he does not look back once while ascending out of the underworld. I think it has a little credence to it considering he’s climbing a grand staircase without looking back, Aigis happens to be in the scene, and the fact that protag’s first persona is Orpheus.

I like the other Persona openings a lot, but this one will always just hit different. It encapsulates the feel of the game and its themes so well. One of the best game OPs ever imo.

This one uses the addictive music that always good to hear never gets tired of it. Sorta like jujutsu kaisen first opening music. Also the opening they put random stuff together and its actually works.

I got into the Persona series with 5 per my girlfriends recommendation. LOVED IT! ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL! Heard about Persona 3 and decided to look up the intro. Needless to say I just bought this game since I still have my PS2 and it’s arriving tomorrow! Can’t fucking wait! Such an awesome intro!

this game oddly hit me hard in the feels as a kid and this opening creeped me out the word "memento mori" and its meaning always gave me chills as a kid I just thought of it as a creepy word, but now grown up it made me think of it in a different way. everything and everyone dies at some point, so you just gotta do your best to make the most of it gotta live with no regrets outdated word but.. yolo you know

My favorite part about this opening is that in true tragic storytelling fashion, it lets you know that the end result of the game will be that you will die, and no matter what happens nothing can change that.

I never got the whole "This intro spoils the plot" mentality. Persona 3's main theme is about death. The game constantly reminds you about that. Having an intro that only says "You will die" in every way it can it's not spoiling, it's more-so foreshadowing than anything else. It's only when you beat the game and see this intro again that you say "Oh, shit."
