I just saw Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse this weekend and I was just reminded that it was made by the same animation studio who did Open Season. Realizing that fact, it’s insane how far Sony Pictures Animation has come ever since their first film. Going from stuff like Open Season, Surf’s Up, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Hotel Transylvania, and of course, the infamous of them all, The Emoji Movie, to one of the greatest superhero and animated franchise of all time.

5:23 Shaw's quote "I'm just respecting the natural order." You have to admit he has a point there. If we just stopped hunting animals (Stopping poaching is one thing and im all for, but hunting for meat and sport is entirely different), then overpopulation will occur. And if overpopulation occurs, then they'll run us out of food, we'll run out or room, and they'll do all kinds of damage. Hunting is a form of population control whether people like it or not. And meat is part of our natural diet. If you simply don't like meat, are allergic to it or can't digest it or whatever, or can't eat meat for Religious reasons, then I will respect that. But you can't call people cruel for hunting (for sport and meat) and/or eating animals. Like I said, it's part of nature.

Yeah, we only occupy the top spot by use of cleverness and technology and even then it doesn't guarantee victory; big animals like bears, tigers and even herbivores like moose or elk can kill a human quite easily even if wounded. Also, I agree with you about Shaw. Hunting for food and survival is one thing, but hunting and killing for sport or pleasure is just out of line.

I wonder if Shaw is a veteran. Because, think about it. People look at Shaw like he's crazy, and he does seem a bit unhinged. (Most likely a form of PTSD) His choice of clothing, the camo pants and his boots especially, the way he ties them is tantamount to the army style. He has a high proficiency with firearms, and is incredibly strong, remember how he forced that door to his cellar open after Boog stuck his rifle in the door to keep him from getting out. This is just a personal theory, but those are some of the things I noticed with Shaw.
