One of the most notorious Female Concentration Camp guards of the Second World War was Elisabeth Volkenrath, a woman who was responsible for the deaths of thousands inside Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen. She was a woman who would whip and beat prisoners with various weapons, and she also took part in selections to send inmates to their deaths inside of the camp's gas chambers. But for her crimes at the end of the Second World War, Volkenrath was executed.
She was condemned inside of the walls of Hamelin Prison by Albert Pierrepoint who executed her on the gallows alongside many other war criminals including Irma Grese. But this was not the end of her story, as years after her execution her remains and coffin were dug up, her coffin was then opened and she was then placed in a different wooden box ready for reburial elsewhere. Still today the remains of this infamous female guard remain on earth.

The photo of female guards at 1:14 is creepy. Not one of them looks happy. They don't even look angry; just miserable.

They probably look miserable because many of them were forced to move the corpses of their victims to a burial site by hand.

@Gwaithmir no they got other prisoners to move them, the guards didn't move body's, why would they when they have slaves to do it for them

I used to visit Belsen camp every Sunday back in the early 90’s for my Sunday newspapers & flavoured Walkers crisps as there were only paprika flavoured crisps whereI lived & worked for a few years as a roof tiler. I also played football in the camp for my local football team “Winsen”. I loved my time in Winsen and the people and work colleagues treated me as one of their own. I also visited the museum and walked the site as part of tour several times over the years. It’s a very sombre experience, walking around, the silence deafening and I recalled, although there are trees around, not a single bird could be heard chirping. May those victims rest in peace 🙏🏻🙏🏻 . Anne Franks “The dairy of Anne Franks” the young Dutch girl also succumbed to the horrors of the camp. A close friend of my elderly father was part of the first group of the British soldiers who liberated Belsen. Those experiences affected his mental health throughout his long life until his passing. RIP Ted Taylor 🙏🏻

Volkenrath was NOT executed first. Pierrepoint the executioner chose Erma Grese because she was youngest. Also a white hood was used not black. The narrative of people walking by is rubbish I have been there. The path is a moss covered cul-de-sac. Thus no one walks by to a plain area of grass. I used to work for a Hamelin firm.

the allies were to blame for the ww2 situation for exempting Jews from paying taxes to the allies after ww1 , the Jews at the time had many retail shops and factories that they took over. It was a American bank who gave Adolf a loan to rebuild the country also , the Swedish bank was also involved . makes you think why America got involved how to kill 3 empires in a war that politics for you .

I'm not sure if Roy Bean ever hung anybody. He was a Justice of the Peace. He didn't have the legal authority to pass out a death sentence or officiate in a murder trial. He could hear cases on theft, drunkenness, and officiate weddings. He got into enough trouble with the state of Texas when he also officiated divorces. Bean was a character and a bit of a scoundrel, but he knew exactly how far he could push the law with his authority. The Texas Rangers probally took care of any murderers on their own before getting to Roy's Saloon.😉
