What really needs to be done is people need to stop looking at yugioh cards on a basis of how common the card is in general QCRs or other high high rarities should stay more expensive for investors while also printing less expensive less rare prints of the cards that are accessible like how other card games do pricing the game should be collectable while also being collectable but maybe that's just me cause im a player who avoids expensive archetypes and cards as much as possible unless I pull the cards from packs cause I understand how aggressive Konamis reprint policy is

@@glomlymac4641I actually share this same belief system as you. I believe high card rarities SHOULD be for “investors”(die hard collectors). This would allow the game to financially grow, because let’s face it, card games and board games struggle extremely hard at making a good profit compared to other gaming outlets like video games. But the cards that are printed at the highest rarity should also have common prints, allowing the card to be accessible to the player base. It would also let players with decks feel more satisfied when they pull a rare card they can replace their common with in deck. This should be a game design policy Konami needs to follow.

I think some people might misunderstand my point. I’m not against reprints at all-I don’t mind if cards get reprinted. In fact, I’m really glad these cards are more accessible now. The SP, Wanted package-these are great cards, and I’m super happy they’re included in this set. My issue is with how frequently these reprints happen. For example, SP just came out in the mega tins, and then, barely 2 month later, it was reprinted as a super rare. This rapid reprinting makes buying the previous set feel pointless; people who bought the tin SP could’ve just waited. I feel there should be more time between releases, allowing each product to have its moment. I’m not an investor; I buy cards to play. Overall, though, I still think this set is a banger!

I think it's good that they reprint and lower the value of cards, so it becomes easily accessible for everyone, it's a card game, not the stock market, and we don't have a money price pool either to make it worth participating with $1000+ deck, so the only logical option imo is to have easy access to cards with the OPTION to bling out a deck.

What I really like about this set compared to the other Rarity Collections are the timing, SP being here without being QSR lets there be a chase version and a "I just wanna play this game" version. I love having sets to recommend people to open when they ask. Olus i find the whole Rarity Collection sets extremely fun to open just casually, its so pleasing to open yet another Ash so i have for most if my decks so i dont need to swap and such. Edit: plus it makes me wanna buy boosters in shops instead of buying singles from cardmarket so shops can have stock and earn money.

I can definitely understand your take in reprint dropping values for investors, but investors also needs to be mindful in which yugioh cards they invest in. Although I haven't played competitive in a while, the value of meta cards in this game have always felt volatile since ban lists exists. If the investor invests in a clearly "broken"/overplayed card in the meta, then they should know that the card will either be hit or reprinted real soon. Reprint definitely feels nice for new players coming back into yugioh or budget players that couldn't get their hands on them before.

I remember I only got one Triple Tac and one Evenly in my box of RA01. No Ashes. No Effect Veilers. No Imperms. For RA02, I opened two boxes and got ONE I:P between the two of them. One Solemn per box. Some things are either clumped up or short printed in every RA0X set, in my experience.

Instead of lambasting Konami for reprints, we should point the finger at the the actual issue, which is resellers price gouging people. TCGs are a bad investment, so I don’t feel bad for anyone losing money investing in these cards. I ONLY feel for the people that save up for a single for it to drop right after they pay, like you said. But that’s because they’re getting price gouged by resellers. Anyway, love your videos. I won't complain about staples getting many reprints. If anything, keep them coming. The price point is a major problem a lot of people have with this game to begin with. The staple cards are played in every deck, or at least most of them, should be affordable.

You're right as a "budget player" (most people are, not many people have the money to drop hundreds of dollars on a deck) it really sucks when you HAVE TO buy expensive meta cards to play the game, that's why most people don't do it. You either proxy or play different cards instead until they get reprinted so for everyone besides competetive players who always need the best cards immediatly, reprinting is a good thing. Even for "casual collectors" like me it's great. I can get all of the nostalgic cards in cool rarities for an affordable price. If you collect just to have expensive sh.t laying around or if you just want to flip stuff then get into magic or whatever idk

I agree that reprinting cards too soon is an issue. For the sp situation honestly it would be ideal if the last reprint of sp legit just didn’t exist. It’s like Konami released a “cheaper” sp to sell a tin only to released an even cheaper one which is also scummy. There’s just better ways to do things like how in the past you could get meta cards as tin promos, doing alternative arts, or literally just not releasing meta cards in such a high rarity to begin with like the ocg.

Completely disagree that cards need too have "breathing room" espeically for cards like Little knight, if a card is so expensive that it alienates most of the population of the player base like Fuwalos is doing at the moment it really prevents people from getting into the game competetivly due to the fact that people simply prefer winning to losing. S:P getting printed in this set doesn't mean that the people who bought the original wasted their money...rather it means that the people who bought early were able too gain a fair advantage for a couple of weeks before the reprint was released and the people who were either unable too afford the card or who couldn't dedicate funds too a hobby at the time are able too compete properly especially coming out of last format and into a new future. Just an opinion though

The problem is that the tins were the worst tins ever. Every good card was a secret rare and was 1 per pack/3 per box. After they announced it was 400 cards, it was obvious its going to be bad and they doubled down on that. Honestly they need to do a mix of the 2019 and 5d's era tins, card Cover + 4 great reprints as a promo pack and a good solid 100 cards list for the actual packs. I get your argument, but there was also always a possibility that S:P etc were going to be in RC3 too but i get it overall and wouldnt disagree with you. You should be able to hold cards for a while without worrying about losing money.

Having bought cards at the moment they were super expensive (as being a budget player) for them to get reprinted a month later for example, I know how it feels. HOWEVER, it will NEVER, EVER make me go back to change what I have always thought for this game: Staples should be accessible to everyone as it should be a collective force that plays and enjoy the game together, not a minority that enjoys it in the corner of the room for 7 months and then has to pass it to everyone because they were forced to by Konami. It is unhealthy and makes people want to go away from the game/ never engaging in Yugioh in the first place You have the right to disagree, and I am also not saying that we shouldn't have high/rare price cards. I am just saying that man...sometimes cards should not be this high in the first place (thanks Konami) and we as a community should encourage more and more accessible staples so that we get or maintain more people into the game (Also yes I get that Sam just felt bad for people saving money and spending it, just to see their efforts crumble after the card gets reprinted, but as said earlier, I will always back the fact that I can now play with more people)
